So, with my current BFG GTX 280 starting to die, and BFG having gone under so I can't get them to repair under warrenty, I've decided to grab a new graphics card. However, I'm not willing to use a dual GPU card, nor an ATI, because I've got myself set up with a 3d monitor using nVidia tech.

What I'm asking is, what would be the best performing single GPU video card under the nVidia brand, or which would be the best buy for the money?

Like Tubez said, the 580 is the most powerful cared out there but it definitely is expensive.

I would recommend dropping down to a 570; you wont suffer that much of a performance hit, and it's a lot cheaper.

Depends on your price range. To be honest, I'd reccomend a Gigabyte or XFX overclocked GTX460 if you're on a budget. These are only around £150 and still kick ass.

570's are close to the performance of a 480, which are still pretty damn good. A 570 will last you quite awhile. I recommend EVGA for the boss warranty. :)
Hopefully I didnt gravedig but Aylaine's right on the money. the 570 is the replacement for the GTX480 (Which im using) but it requires less power, its a bit quieter (which no one even notices) and produces less heat then that of thr 480, and produces the same result as the 480.

Also EVGA are <3 with warrenties.

That being said you can pick up a 480 for around £200 now which, despite the noise, is far more able than anything else around that price mark. Otherwise the 570 is a good choice as said above.
