Singularity comes out in a few days, and I think it looks pretty great. Sadly, I'll be away from home when it comes out, so I won't be able to buy it. But that's beside the point. I'd like to see what you other Escapists think of this game. Discuss.

Haven't followed it much at all, but if it does turn out good, I'd love to try it out.

It's hard to say. The time mechanism might be as innovative as the Aperture Science Portal Device, or, more likely, it will turn out to be shoehorned into a generic FPS like Timeshift's time mechanism was.

From what I've read, it doesn't seem like it was shoehorned in. Or if it was, it's going to be much better than Timeshift's mechanisms. Considering how often I've seen the opinion that it won't be as awesome as I hope it is, perhaps I'll just rent the game.

I had been looking somewhat forward to it but I don't have time to play it now. I'll have to pick it up later.

It seems like the device is plain old overpowered. Go to the games wiki and read all the uses, they are all basically instant win buttons.

Who knows though maybe it could be good.

I'm betting using it to get rid of enemies isn't all that simple though. You probably need to keep some sort of beam or something or other trained on them for at least a few seconds, leaving you wide open for attack from other enemies, and it probably won't even work to completely revert or age enemies to dust until pretty late in the game. I could be totally wrong, on the other hand, and it actually is really, really damn overpowered.

Haven't heard of it before though I've just checked it out.

Meh, looks like a generic combination of Metro 2033 and Wolfenstein and those games were generic enough. Seems like it'll just fade into the background of gaming amongst section 8 and dead to rights retribution.
