From what I've read, it doesn't seem like it was shoehorned in. Or if it was, it's going to be much better than Timeshift's mechanisms. Considering how often I've seen the opinion that it won't be as awesome as I hope it is, perhaps I'll just rent the game.Chamale said:It's hard to say. The time mechanism might be as innovative as the Aperture Science Portal Device, or, more likely, it will turn out to be shoehorned into a generic FPS like Timeshift's time mechanism was.
I'm betting using it to get rid of enemies isn't all that simple though. You probably need to keep some sort of beam or something or other trained on them for at least a few seconds, leaving you wide open for attack from other enemies, and it probably won't even work to completely revert or age enemies to dust until pretty late in the game. I could be totally wrong, on the other hand, and it actually is really, really damn overpowered.godofallu said:It seems like the device is plain old overpowered. Go to the games wiki and read all the uses, they are all basically instant win buttons.
Who knows though maybe it could be good.
