So, here I am in the last day of the summer term, sitting in class and looking on the interwebs. We aren't allowed to take our final for another two bleeding hours and I feel this is a waste of my time.
The question I pose to you, fellow escapist, is this; have you ever been stuck somewhere you didn't want to be, doing something mind numbing and not being able to "escape"?

General Studies exams! My college wouldn't allow us to drop out of it unless we failed AS and unfortunatly i passed. Its amazing how fun colouring in each o in the text is when you have 1 hour and 30 mins of pure boredom.

Yeah, I used to have a job, before my studies started. Not a very inspiring job. Also, I have had the pleasure of visiting some distant relatives I didn´t even know exist. Oh, and parties where I don´t know practically anyone, I hate those too. Talk about awkward pain in the ass.

Life can be a boring drudgery sometimes. Don´t bother yourself too much with those moments.

oh god....so mind numbingly boring.....school would have been a lot better
The last time I spent the night in the hospital I lucked out that The Rock was on TV, and then being even more lucky, Die Hard was on after that. Made the stay not so bad...other than the fact that my lungs were trying to kill me.

I coloured in every o on every word on every page and would still have hours left.

Ok, just this past sunday I was in a car accident. I wasn't bleeding or dying or anything like that, but I still had to go to the hospital. Make matters worse, they make me lay a gurney despite the fact I didn't have any pain and I was able to walk about just fine. (I was able to walk out of the car, I was able to walk into the ambulance, I was able to walk out of the ambulance and into the hospital and I was able to walk about the hospital all with no problem whatsoever!)
My mother however would not shut the fuck up about her pain the moment we have the accident. Does she need to lay on a gurney? Nope. Just me. And she's the one they had to dope up with three different medications. Had to lay there for more than two hours. (every time someone would pass, I'd tell them that I was apparently dying.)

Well it took me about 10 mins to read through the booklet they gave us and then i had about ooo err 50 mins for writing and blagging my way through knowing anything about art etc. But i still had ages left after colouring the o's so i just sat there watching the clock.

My school didn't give us a clock to stare at. They gave us hard wooden seats too. God I hated exams.

Yeah well, something like that. After graduating from school about 85% of males living here (picked at random) are required to either be in the military or do some kind of civil service for the duration of 9 months.
Some people con their way out of it by, say, smoking dope prior to the mandatory physical so it'll show up in the tests and render them 'unfit for service', but then again about half of the time karma comes back to bite them in the arse when the Bundeswehr actually bother to forward those files to the police.
Of course, if you actually have a condition that renders you unfit (say, both legs being different length, being prone to get slipped discs, significantly reduced eyesight etc) you are justly freed from doing either mandatory service.
Since I was deemed fit for service and deduced that I'd probably have a worse time caring for mentally impaired children or wiping butts at an old folks home, I gritted my teeth and signed up for the Bundeswehr. I learned an astounding amount about bureaucracy in those 9 months... but it wasn't all bad. I also got to steer a giant supply ship and take part in fun little activities such as performing controlled detonations of old naval mines. ^^
