Well, this is it guys and girls.
In less than 24 hours, the PC Version of the well-known Fighting game Skullgirls will be available.

So I want to say a big thanks to all the followers of my Threads that followed to this awesome journey of waiting and excitement for the game coming for PC and the IndieGogo "backers" that funded the 5 new DLC characters, the use of game's engine for the Fighting game "Fighting is Magic", new voices for the characters, new pallets colors, extra stages, new story modes and other kind of extras.

I think is time for us to at last install the game and be ready to play it [even if we suck at it...]!!!!

Cheers to all of you!!!!!

Any word on when Squigly is coming to PSN? I havent heard anything beyond a vague September maybe date. I really want to make my Squigly Valentine team and practice up so I can add Eliza in later next year when she come out.

It's thanks to you, SweetShark, that I ever got wind of a pc port of Skullgirls in the first place!

I remember being enamoured by the gameplay trailers back when glimpses were first shown. Immediately! The gorgeous artstyle, unique character designs and the stylish gameplay had me itching to play it...needless to say, I was more than excited.

Then I was subjected to a wave of disappointment when no news of a pc port popped up...from that day, something inside me died

- I grew a beard
- I started drinking coffee (with NO milk!)
- I never uttered the name "Skullgirls" again
- I started browsing darker sites on the internet...like The Escapist

And then...your thread happened.

The joy slowly crept back into my heart

:D

- I stopped eating kittens
- I shaved the beard that made me look silly
- I started drinking tea again (WITH milk, like civilised people!)

So somehow, from whatever-the-hell you used to create that thread. You made an Escapeee happy.

What's with the PC port? Are all the DLC and what have you with it? Cuz I dropped out of touch with Skullgirls when it was laid to rest online on the 360 about 2 months after release. Literally zero people playing it. It's absolutely absurd since BlazBlue Calamity Trigger, a game released in 2009 (or 10 if you're unlucky and live in the EU) has people playing it regularly, nevermind the newest BlazBlue.

I mean i'll play the PC port, even though it'll look a bit odd on a PC monitor instead of a proper TV but I might wait for a full DLC bundle whenever that happens.

I would try my Valentine/Parasoul team again but I much prefer the 1v1 style. Therefore Valentine forever because Parasoul is HARD. I can't do back-to-forward moves AKA everything she does and her movement is damn weird. You know how everyone has that character that they would love to be good at but just can't? Also known as Taokaka Syndrome? Yeah Parasoul from SG and Makoto from BB are mine.

The MLP Fighting game? How does that work? Wouldn't they need their own separate campaign?

Haven't been following this mind you, but I may picking up the PS3 version soon; Friends List Peer Pressure.

I got the beta out of slight interest in the game's art style. Loving it so far, the game is the right blend of hilarious and quirky. I'd love a story mode to slightly flesh out each character, and add more content.

But I found out that I stink at fighting games. Keys instead of analog sticks might be a reason why. Controls are pretty tight anyway.

Well, the developer of the MLP fighting game are just allowed to use the engine of Skullgirls without any costs. This was a stretch goal in the Kickstarter and after a few beta hours I see quite the potential for the MLP fighting game to become good (since the engine is quite good).
Indeed, because of the IndieGogo campaign, Fighting is Magic is Unique!!!
Btw, here is a first picture of a fighter!!:

Yep, I guess will have many kind of animals fighting each other. RADICAL!!!!!!!!!

Which DLC characters are available at launch? Squigly?
Yes, Squigly will be the first, then Big Band. After that I don't know.
The rest of them is Eliza, Beowulf and Robo-Fortune.

I am going to echo RipVanTinkle and say we should be thanking you. It's refreshing to see somebody enthusiastic enough about a game to keep everybody up to date with it. Even though I backed the project, I have mostly found about things through your threads.

So thank you.

Personally I have not been playing the beta all that much, but that is mainly because I cannot really play fighting games for extended periods of time, I am not that into them in general. I backed Skullgirls because I liked the style and the humour as well as being a fan of the passionate people working on it.

It is nice to see that it has finally reached the PC community, I first heard about the possibility of a PC port quite some time ago, so it is great to see that it's here.

Heh, tell me about. Me also didn't touched the Beta at all. I want to play the complete version.

Me too, I am not a very good player in fighting game, but I backed this just only for the interesting characters, art style and story [yes, I actually love the story]

Thank you so much for your good words.

This is probably the wrong place to ask as everyone here will be fighting game fans with PC's, but does anyone actually think fighting games + pc = YES, because I would've thought that the community would be exclusive to consoles. What with the keyboard not really being up to the job for fighting games. I know you could plug in a controller but a lot of pc gamers don't even own a controller.

I'd never buy a fighting game for pc because it just doesn't seem like the right environment for it.

But back to the topic I haven't got skull girls yet but I probably will, because its nice to see good fighters made in the west for a change.

If the only problem is the controller... then just buy a controller. They can cost from nothing to everything, but there's a price range for everybody.

Or, the keyboard works perfectly fine and is actually more accurate with movements than a controller. Key presses feel a lot more sure than a wobbly d-pad.

Is it possible that I may be waiting in vain for a DRM-free release? (Presuming that it'll have Steam DRM)

Ahh, probably won't wait :D

If you imagine the big budget LAbZero used to create this game, I don't think to see this for free for a lllllloooooooooooooonnnnnngggggggggggg time.

But at least all DLC character will be for free :D
