I can buy both. I will buy both. I will play MW3 for it's 5-6 hour campaign (if we're lucky), then I will immediately start on Skyrim, because I know that the multiplayer won't be properly patched or balanced until at least a week after release. After which I will play the MW3 multiplayer off and on for about 2 months then just stop entirely like I have with every other COD Multiplayer. I cannot fathom how people can play a COD Multiplayer day and night for over a YEAR.

Pardon my French, but MW3 can suck it. Skyrim has to be the most impressive game of this year.

Skyrim is new with impressive graphics and a massive improvement over the last game.

MW3 is the same game where they slapped on some better graphics and maybe another online gamemode.

Poor MW3 looks like its gonna get crushed, oh well, those games were not too bad
I'm sure MW3 will do okay anyway - there are a lot of people the will play MW3 but don't like RPG games like Skyrim (Though on this forum that definately not the case!)

Why ask this question on the Escapist? Most people here are too elitist to "dirty" themselves with a Call of Duty game.

Me personally Ill probably buy Skyrim, but Modern Warfare 3 is also a definate buy
This isn't elitism. Skyrim has had a 5 year development cycle, while MW3 is just the same 1 year development money grab. Hating on clearly sub-par crap is not elitism.
Im going to disagree with you there, the Call of Duty games are excellent shooters which obviously a lot of people enjoy, whether its "crap" or not isnt up to you to decide. (Obviously You can think its crap though). By elitism i mean that the majority of people on this site that dislike CoD do it because its popular and because they dont like it, they are automatically better than people who do like it

The point I'm making is that a popular opinion, regardless whether it is yours or my own, does not make the opposing side elitist. We don't claim to be part of a exclusive, morally or intellectually superior, no call of duty club (even if in your head you ascribe that meaning to those that dislike it).

The escapist community needs to stop using elitism as some kind of omni-relevant insult, it is fucking ridiculous:

"Don't like my console? ELITIST!"

"Don't like my favorite game? ELITIST!"

"Don't like my opinion? ELITIST!"

"Don't like my lifestyle? ELITIST!"

Just freaking stop, you are retracting all meaning from the goddamn word.

P.S. Not a single bit of this rant can be classified as elitist.

Look im not saying that everyone on the site is elitist, but i have run across a fair few of them here. The people who say I dont like Modern Warfare because its boring/ annoying/ activision are a bunch of greedy fuckwads.

Im talking about the people who havent played Call of Duty but still rant on about how terrible it is and how everyone who enjoys the game is some sort of fool

Still not elitism, they have to claim their own moral or intellectual superiority for it to be classified as such. If we start to nitpick it will all come down to semantics, but in that statement they never claimed to be any less of a fool than those that play the game, just that the game itself makes you foolish. Either way just ask yourself "does he claim to be/ or believes to be superior to other people, to the point that he is a part of a elite (and most often) exclusive sect of humanity?".

If the answer is yes, bingo you got yourself an elitist.

Generally when someone calls another person a fool then it means they consider that person below them. I really dont feel like arguing over a little matter like this though seeing as its going no where

Well I can not think of one redeeming part about yet ANOTHER call of duty title, I wouldnt play it for more than 10 hours if I was PAID the RRP to play it.

Skyrim on the other hand, I have not played an Elders Scroll game yet, do love RPG's to death however and this looks like a mighty one indeed.

I think Skyrim will sell more. Especially since Kotick want subscription fees on MW3 (not sure if this is confirmed though)
Personally I will buy Skyrim but not MW3.
Oh, and they don't want subscription fees. You would know this if you payed the slightest bit of attention. CoD ELITE PREMIUM SERVICES, will have a small subscription fee. The actual game won't. Next time pay attention before you post.
First of all, you're acting like I insulted you personally. Secondly, I said I thought Kotick wanted it (Activision CEO), not sure where you got "they" from. I also sated that I wasn't sure if he said that. What I heard was obviously old information.

Not going to bother with MW3 until I know that Soap and Cpt. Price are back. Even then its only rent worthy to me. Skyrim is a must buy for me and I even might get the collectors edition.

I'm not even buying Modern Warfare 3.

Problem solved!
Same here!

I'm not interested in Modern Warfare 3. I bought Modern Warfare 2, and then I sold it after a couple of months because I wanted some money. (Which I then blew on ANOTHER game)

Srsly I just bought Oblivion on Steam to warm up for Skyrim (though I has it on xbox)
Since you've played it on xbox 360 already, do you want to try out some mods?
I could help you find some good/great ones.
Sure, PM me :D

Neither, I will still play Batman Arkham City...
Yes, even a month later, and many months beyond that.

I'm buying a new compressor for my cars air conditioner around that time, which means not only my money will be gone...but also an arm, a leg, and probably a testicle.

Doubt I'll be able to afford games around then, but if I had to choose I'd get Skyrim. Mostly for what the modding community is likely to do with it.....
