Skyrim Corrupt Save Game - Level 55, 113 HRs

So, I just got onto Skyrim today to find out that my save game was corrupt ( yay!). Everytime I try to leave Jorvasskr and the loading screen is about to end and I'm about to leave, the game crashes - just as the screen is loading out. I've tried all my save games and they all seem to be corrupted -_-. I'm playing on 360 and not PC, so there's probably no way to fix this, or remake a level 55 character.

ouch man, you didnt have any previous saves?

It happened to me once in fallout 3 and I lost like 3 hours of Gameplay.

Got one in Sovngarde, about 100 saves ago. Funny thing is, this probably has only happend to me on Skyrim.

Yeah, slightly simular problem here. Had a level 50 character with about 90 hours into it, and when I created a new char that save got erased.
Didn't matter much to me since I couldn't continue anyways due to other bugs on the main quest/stormcloaks quests, but it still felt a bit sad to notice it was gone.

Hi... I had a friend with this issue and I solved the problem. I solved the issue by asking him what mods he installed and any tinkering he did with the .ini file.

The original in has a command that can be changed to increase the load on screen heres the Example http://goo.gl/tk7M7

Anyhow... the command is changed sometimes defaulted and such will not let the game load, if this is the case access the .ini and exchange

This;
uExterior Cell Buffer=36

To this;

uExterior Cell Buffer=64
uGridsToLoad=7

assuming you originally changed the default this.

He has an xBox not a PC, so that probably won't help him.

I recently backed the savegame folder up on my PC, I found out that there are a lot of backup-saves that the games made. Probably the xBox has them too, the problem is where and how to access them on the xBox.
Anyway I would give you my savegame, but you have to figure out how to bring to your xbox and you would play with a level 60 Orc Archmage.

So from xBox to PC it doesn't seem to be a problem link Does it work the other way around too??

Sorry to hear that, man. I hope you can fix this somehow. This reminds me of when my room mate's SoulCalibur 2 complete save game went the way of the dodo.

Oh, and just a piece of advice I got more than a decade ago from a Leisure Suit Larry guidebook (albeit for very different reasons): save early and save often!

I always keep multiple saves. It saved my game in multiple occasions

this happened to me in oblivion and i lost 100+ hours, i know your pain
i dont have a 360 so i cant really suggest how to fix the problem or anything to help you other than (and im not trying to patronising here) backing up your saves on a usb stick in future

its not bethesdas fault since this happens from time to time with every game which is why I always keep my saves on a harddrive

This is why you have multiple saves.
At least five.

I don't understand, if you're playing on the 360 then there should be 3 autosaves you can go back to.

Probably one when you entered Whiterun, the one where you entered Jovaskarr and one from wherever you were before that (or after you came out of you inventory menu if you have that switched on)

Seriously, I have one custom safe file I always update when I quit my game and then 1 safe file laggin behind so I only lose one playsession worth of time. Besides that I have 3 autosave files. Backing up is reccommended with Bethseda games.

Well, that's another reason to never overwrite old saves and always make new ones.
I mean seriously, I save pretty much every time a new group of enemies is dead and before I enter a new area...
And after entering the new area too, if it's safe.
I also save every time I see a dragon or find a new landmark.

No quick saves and/or auto saves ?
Since something similar happened to me in Gothic 2 i always have at least 2 saves around to prevent this.
