I've heard angels crying when January 31st came and went and the creation kit was nowhere in sight.ACman said:Well it's February and no creation kit. Booo.
Anyone heard anything?
Well looky looky, we got a first look here:SmashLovesTitanQuest said:Apparently things have been a little more complicated this time round due to some Steam integration stuff. At least thats the case with Skyrim, I have no idea whats going on with RAGE.Azure-Supernova said:I wonder if it's a publisher-side issue, because RAGE's editing tools still haven't appeared and it's been what, five or six months? I'm just wondering why these tools weren't here for launch. SkyEdit is good and all, it's just missing a lot of features the official kit will supply.
And yeah, SkyEdit just aint good enough. Man, I want the creation kit so bad. (Or to be more accurate, I want the sweet mods that will be possible with the creation kit.)
From the looks of it the new CK is extra user friendly, what with offical tutorials from the developers themselves and everything. As for the Steam Works thing? Yeah I'll stick with the Nexus Mod Manager, I like having total control of unofficial content. It can get really nasty if Oblivion taught me anything about modding.SmashLovesTitanQuest said:Yep, just caught this in my Facebook feed. Looks good. But damn, its just made me more eager to finally get my hands on it, install some sweet CK mods, maybe even try modding myself.
I hope they bring it out with the 1.4 update, cause thats not to far away.
(By the way, the steam integration thing looks terrible. Automatically updating mods without asking you? Yeah, well, FUCK NO. That could spawn all kinds of nasty problems.)
they just released a preview today (it is on youtube) and as expected uploads and downloads will be handled through Steam. while this will make getting and maintaining installed mods really easy, i do wonder how steam will handle (or even allow) some of the more controversial mods (e.g. killing kids, nudity / skimpy armor types) and people using copyrighted ideas (e.g. light sabers, LoTR related items).ACman said:Well it's February and no creation kit.
