Skyrim: Disappointed in the Dragons

When I'm being attacked by 7 Draugrs and 1 Draugr Deathlord I attack the weaker ones first. Alone they're no threat, together they're going to kill me in a matter of seconds. Dragons don't want to kill the Dragonborn and be left to clean up the mudcrabs that weren't killed, they want a one on one.Sucal said:

I've literally been in situations where there were no less than ten other people attacking a dragon, I haven't even shot it or made rude gestures at it, yet it'll bound over all the others and pounce at me.

I don't know what the hell you guys are talking about, I haven't even FOUGHT a dragon! There was the mandatory fight in the begining but not a single fight after that for me. I saw one flying around and I tried to get to to come fight me by shooting some arrows and strutting my tasty tushy around but nope, my juicy hams aren't quite juicy enough for them.
The only time I've had the dragons act really stupid was when one thought a mammoth looked tasty. Somehow, it lifted the mammoth through the air and put it at the top of a tree far, far away from me. Then the giant came out of nowhere and squished me.
Oh good, so it's not just me... I was picking up the treasure from the Talos Shrine out of winterhold when a dragon spawned while i was scaling a very craggy glacier.Sucal said:

Idk I do like how the dragons I fought so far all act a little differently. Though so far I've only seen 5. Two from the story, two guarding a mystical wall and one that decided to jump me while I was fighting a necromancer and some wolves. Each was a little different since I wasn't playing a nord so I couldnt run through the ice breath and had to run around and fight by dodging around trees and stone pillers, shouting then running up and hacking the crap out of the dragon and running away. Though this may be because my shield so little to help.
I like the dragons, but how the hell do you get them down to fight them? I was running around in the wild and one started circling overhead. I'm a two-handed specialist so I had no way to hit it from afar. I even shouted at it a few times, but it didn't even notice me. Just kept on going about its merry way, before finally flying off towards the Throat of the World.
I was left feeling so... disappointed. THESE are the great threat to Skyrim? The thing doesn't even go out of its way to roast a lone wanderer. I was threatened more by a mudcrab that kept snipping at my ankles while I ran around shouting harsh language at this stupid dragon. It was less anti-climactic if the thing took a mid-air dump on my head, and that dump had a half-digested helmet.
And a hilarious musical queue. Dah-dah-dun-da-dun-dun... BOING.

I guess it's all about aggro. And it's pretty lulzy that a mudcrab generated more aggro than you.

I think it's a case of the dragon's not outright knowing that you're dragonborn just by seeing a little steel-clad speck hundred of metres below them.

Really? Dragons don't attack you? I'm having trouble getting away from them. I remember trying to get to the atronach stone (awesome buff for fighting against mages btw). I was just going along minding my own business when a dragon comes out of nowhere and roasts me alive.

simple no matter what anyone says, a dragon is still a beast, in a game do you gun for the strongest being that has walked the earth or laugh as you rip an old ladies face off because why the fuck not... besides i havent experianced your problem i have dragons falling out of the sky like rain trying to eat me and only me
My biggest issue with the Dragons in Skyrim is that they're actually Wyverns.
Yeah, I know, it's nitpicking, but if you start calling Wyverns "Dragons", then what's next? Calling Knives "Forks"? Calling Men "Women"!? Calling Red Leicester "Stilton"!?!?! That's the road to madness, that's what that is....

I like them, too powerful and you'd hate their existence, not powerful enough and you'd barely care.
The majority of my fights are made easy only because an imperial legion happens to be nearby, lots of arrows plus my three word dragon breath equals tasty soul munching.
Also anyone who is struggling to come across dragons, try roderons retreat (dungeon with bandits inside, spelling may be off a little), usually if I spawn there a dragon turns up after a few seconds and starts dismantling mammoth faces.
Be aware though that when they die, they don't patrol as much for a little while, so don't expect to run into them by spamming fast travels to previous destination.
p.s, buy a house, then you can store all those hefty dragon remains instead of hauling them around all day worrying about respawning chests in the companions guild.
