Skyrim-HELP with main quest

Ok, I ain't going to spoiler the entire post, so don't read this unless you have finished the main quest or have gotten DragonRend.

Alright, so I found out about the Master of the Greybeards, and blah blah blah... blah.

So I was sent to get an Elder Scroll, so of course I visited Esbern. He told me to go to the Collage, talk the the library guy.

So I did all that, visted the crazy old guy in the far north.... snow.... place... thing... And got the Elder Scroll printed on the cube. I gave it to him, and he told me he would contact me soon.

Welp, I have waited. And waited.
I even finished the entire Civil War quest line (WOOOO Imperials!) and still waited.
I visted him many times. Still nothing.
I stood in the middle of WhiteRun and waited. And waited. 24 hours, 24 hours, 24 hours.

What the hell has happened? I literally cannot proceed without him talking to me. But nope, the only talk option is about the giant Dwemer Cube he is next to. Help anyone?


Oh and if it helps, I am in The Compaions, and the Imperial Army. (Companions, I think half way through, Imperial, finished.) I am an Imperial Werewolf.... umm...

Oh yeah, I am part of the Collage, even though I didn't want to. But no, the only way for the main quest to proceed is for me to join the Collage. Bit of a dick move there Bethesda. I wasn't forced to join the Companions just to speak to their leader.

And I am on a PC. BEHOLD THE MASTER RACE!

TL;DR: I am stuck, with what I think is a bug.

Is there anyway to get around it? If not, is there a console command I can use to skip the waiting part of the quest?

P.S. I was looking at the wiki, and I saw something called "Septimus Sigmus' letter" or something? Related or not?

You don't need him to talk to you again. After you get the Elder Scroll anything else that guy in the cave wants is for a side quest. Once you have the Elder Scroll go back to the Throat of the World, stand in the time rift and read it.

No no, what I mean is that when I gave the CUBE to him, he won't do anything.

At the moment, my quest log says, wait, I'll get the EXACT words.

Well, bugger the exact words, but heres the jist of it.

I talked to the crazy old guy and gave him the enscribed Dwemer Cube. He said he might be able to unlock this lockbox using the power of the Elder Scroll and will contact me when he is done.

Then all my objectives are ticked, and it just says wait for him to contact you.
