Skyrim help!

You're specs cover the recommended system requirements except for the processor, so I would go for PC and if it doesn't run so well, upgrade you processor this Christmas or something. That's what I'm doing.

I would, but it's a laptop.... :\

I swear, though, the next rig I get is going to be a desktop; I've wanted to upgrade this for a while. I just saw the laptop on Amazon on sale for dirt cheap and always wanted a gaming laptop. I have to say, other than gaming on the couch, it's pretty damn overrated!

That's a good way to size up the situation.

Of course, if one is ever uncomfortable gaming on the PC, you could just figure some way to PC game on your couch.

Don't know how you'd manage it, but it can be done I'm sure.

I'll just stick with consoles.

I've actually hooked up my computer to the living room TV before for watching anime fansubs or showing people various games.

It's a lot easier than you might think, as it is, a TV isn't much different from a monitor these days, so it's really easy now.

Outside of that, I just put my keyboard on my lap, and placed a mousepad over the cushion to my right and played it exactly like that. Worked reasonably well. (Although, thankfully my mouse is wireless as that could have made things difficult otherwise.)

The 6650M is a mobile graphics card, as in laptop, correct?

That would be why Can You Run It says it failed. That program doesn't recognize mobile cards like it should

I have something to add for myself: my problem with gaming these days is usually my graphics card. It's not bad, but it's the one that comes with the laptop, so a lot of games don't recognize it for some reason.

It is a Intel HD Graphics Family Card with 1696 MB of memory. Will that work, you think?

'intel hd' graphics are almost never supported officially for a title like this, it may work but it's a shot in the dark.

Hmm...well, I've been able to run Oblivion, Fallout 3, and New Vegas just fine on it. Think that means anything? I mean, I know it's a new engine and all, but surely that's a good sign?

i would guess if it can run fallout it would be ok, but i know Intel graphics are.. quirky

Thanks everyone for the advice! I bought Skyrim on Steam and it's preloaded. Just 6 painfully long hours until I'm slashing dragons.
