Sneak is, of course, the most overpowered skill. Not because you're invisible (illusion offers that too), but because of the ridiculous sneak attack damage.
This. My assassin was one hit killing everything with 30x crit damage on daggers.

The first skill I maxed was smithing.
Iron dagger spam for the win.
And this.
My first character, I decided to role play as Artemis Entreri. Which meant I was fighting with a sword in my main hand and a dagger in my off hand. My ultimate goal was:
to have Daedric Sword main hand, name it Charon's Claw, and enchant it with either elemental damage of some kind, or magicka damage. Kinda hard to exactly get Charon's Claw effect out of the limited set available to Skyrim weapons.
in my offhand, a Daedric dagger, named only "Jeweled Dagger". Enchant it with Fiery Soul Trap and Absorb Health. It's basically the perfect recreation of what the Jeweled dagger does, this was what I was most excited about. I also had Azura's black star, so I'd be able to soul trap humies just like Artemis.
Ancient Dark Brotherhood armor, improved to legendary. The headpiece was the only one I'd replace, using a cowl that fortified sneak instead, to honor the black brimmed hat he usually wears that helps hide him from creatures seeing in the infrared spectrum.
If you'll all note, I used passed tense in all of this. I was doing this. That was before I overwrote all my save files. On a whim, I started an Orc barbarian. Just kinda wanted to swing around a warhammer for a little while (ORC SMASH!). I spent all of 20 minutes on it. Quicksaved before I left.
I didn't make any hard saves of my assassin. Which means every autosave and the quicksave slot were all overwritten. I was level 36, I had my smithing maxed out, had enchanting up to 67 and was working hard to get it maxed (needed master level for the Jeweled Dagger dual-enchantment). I had spent 50+ hours on it at that point .
I take responsibility for it, as a PC gamer I should know better than to not make backup saves. But seriously, how are there not character slots? How hard would it be for new characters to save in a separate subfolder? (inb4 harder than making a backup save)
