I know the feeling. Also, after my little incident in Breezehome, I didn't feel safe, so I packed Lydia into my bag and mounted her on the wall in Vlindrel Hall. I already have a spot reserved for Mjall's battleaxe...though, really, the fact I've planned her funeral spot says a lot about my companions' average lifespan.
...wait, say what now?

Never mind what I said before. If you're mounting the bodies of your former comrades-in-arms as trophies, the person in your house will never come back again. And if they do, it'll be with an army.

Very early on in the game I had an assassin attack me near Ivarstead and he had a letter on him saying that the dark brotherhood had a contract on me.
I am still rather low leveled and had that happen too
did you help the stormcloaks take over Whiterun?

I figured he/she was hired by the former leader of Whiterun because its mentioned hes vengeful

So this guy gave me a bow of snares to look after, saying he'd come back for it. 70 hours of playtime later...nothing.

Now play Skyrim, and have your mind blown.
Yeah I've noticed other one's too. It's pretty wierd. I figured it was some sort of merchants sign or something. To say that they have paid protection.

And the only person I walked past was Adrianne Avenicci. Nobody else fits the description. It sure as hell wasn't a Whiterun guard, and this was in the evening, nobody else was out.
*sigh*

Alright, then if I had to guess, you probably ran into one of the folks who run the Temple of Kynareth. They wear hooded robes, and have single-handed weapons. Swing by the temple during the day and see if any of them fit the description of the person you saw. It might've been Danica.

Failing that, I wouldn't worry. Lydia's like a home security system. So unless your burglar is screwing both your wife and your housecarl, he won't be back again.

...and if he is back again, just admit defeat. You're dealing with some sort of Casanova.
Lydia's dead. Her sword is named Lydia and adorns my wall.

Lydia is the steel sword she once wielded. Before she died. I enchanted the sword and named it in her honour, so she'd still protect my house even in death.

That's...that's actually pretty cool. I never thought of that as a way of dedication.

I figured of the Player can barge into random houses in most RPGs, why can't NPC show up when ever they want in the Player's Home.

Take your items, loot your treasure chests, smash your pots and demand quest info.

Now excuse me there is a Dragon here that I need to kill real quick.

d'aww, thats so nice.
i don't even let Lydia out of my bedroom for fear of her face becoming magnetised.
Ysolda isnt too fond of this plan, so i occasionally let Lydia have a run around the kitchen.

OT: yesterday, when i was with Dolphin-laday and Esbeard, we were attacked by two dragons. the second one actually managed to break their ability to walk more than ten feet at a time before needing a five minute break.

I once got caught by a hunter for stealing some of his fine wares, he attacked me and died in the process. A few days later, I get attacked in open streets by three thugs. After killing them, I notice they have a note on them, with a bounty for me. SIGNED BY HUNTER

So, what, did the new patch remove the ability for companions to die? Because...I hope not. Part of the fun was keeping them alive, and then being forced to leave their corpse in some anonymous dungeon while you take your expensive armour back for the next guy...

Whats really mind-blowing is that they show how Lorkhan = Akatosh in Skyrim.

Look at the statue of Talos in Whiterun. Talos is stepping on snake while pointing a sword into the snake's open mouth.
http://images.uesp.net/a/ad/SR-concept-Shrine_Of_Talos.jpg

The relevance of this can be found in how the Nords use to depict all their gods as animals a long time ago. These animals were the hawk, wolf, snake, moth, owl, whale, bear, fox, and the dragon.
http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:The_Dragon_War

Lets Look at at three of these, specifically the snake, whale, and hawk. As you might remember these three animals were used on those spinning pillar puzzles in Nord ruins.

Lets also look at three of the Nords gods, specifically Shor, Kyne, and Tsun.
-Tsun is the Shield-thane of Shor, we meet Tsun in Sovengaurd were he guards the whalebone bridge into the hall the Hall of Valor, Tsun = the whale.
-Kyne, the wife of Shor, also known as Kynareth, is the goddess of air, what better animal to represent the goddess of air but a hawk?
-Shor is the Nordic leader of the gods and husband to Kyne. Shor is also the Nodric name for Lorkhan. Furthermore Lorkhan is also known in the Redguard faith as Sep the SNAKE. Sep/Shor/Lorkhan = the snake.
http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Varieties_of_Faith...

Talos stepping on the snake on his statue is Talos stepping on Sep/Shor/Lorkhan, taking the place of the missing god.

Now I want you to go to The temple of the divines in Solitude and look at the shrine to Akatosh there, on said shrine we can clearly make out a dragonhead with its mouth open and a sword entering it.

Look closer however, this depiction of Akatosh has a dragon's head, and a dragons wings, BUT it does not have a dragons body, nor a dragons arms or feet, it has the body OF A SNAKE, thin and serpentine, not anywhere close to same bodies that other dragons have or that Akatosh had in Oblivion.

Does anyone else find it coincidental that a "snake", with its mouth open, and a sword entering are in BOTH Akatosh's and Talos's shrine?

I have already shown how Lorkhan = The snake, and how Akatosh's shrine is mirroring the statue of Talos with a snake having a sword shoved in its mouth. If Lorkhan = a snake, and Akatosh = a snake, then Akatosh = Lorkhan.

Akatosh = Lorkhan was also confirmed shortly after Oblivion came out by series lore-writer Michael Kirkbride, also known as MK.

You guessed it. The Arena is a collection of pseudo-imagos, all the way down to the core. Lorkhan is Akatosh, the Dragon God of Time is the Missing God of Change."

see how they hide stuff in plain sight?

I wont even start on how they show that Sithis, the master of the void and leader of the Dark Brotherhood is Lorkhan.

My house is in Solitude and I am currently enjoying the comfy bed with Jordis while we read proper ways to make more dragonborn from "Racial Phynyology".

I think she and I are accepted amongst the people well enough, considering how I am the Argonian Arch-Mage and she's my housecarl/wife.

Though the house does have a habit of swallowing up my weapons on certain racks. Now the Blade of woe is gone when I:

Destroyed the dark brotherhood

I don't know if I should have talked about the first part....
