Yeah it is, and it broke my game. I can't set even a single foot in water without it freezing my ps3 and forcing a hard reset. I'm seeing it being reported on forums everywhere.

Apparently its live for PS3 now as well... in North America anyway.
I'm hunting for a way to restore my previous version or uninstall the patch on PS3. Auto-update is disabled on my system yet games do not abide by this setting and download updates without asking. If you hear anything please let us know. I'm an argonian who can't touch water.....
Not to mention some of the most enjoyable expeditions I've been on involved exploring underwater caves, sunken ships, secret tunnels/escape routes one has to dive deep to discover, etc. . . .

None of the bugs or seldom crashes were *that* bothersome either. I recall having a couple issues in windelm involving blood on the ice and the dark brotherhood (as many have) yet all it amounted to was me running about for an hour or so looking for someone who was already dead, figuring out it was bugged, then returning to astrid to find out the quest simply auto completed. < Biggest issue I've had. The crashes were minor not to mention infrequent. This, however, makes it virtually impossible for me to play the game...

On another note, has anyone encountered this hilarious bug? I was standing next to my husband when a courier delivered me an inheritance letter informing me he died. . . Cracked me up.

So, apparently, if you delete your game install data and update and THEN re-install the game + update the water glitch goes away.

This makes me feel better about not yet really getting into Skyrim. The patches are constantly improving it.

Tanis is correct. That's supposed to fix the water crash.

I had to do it twice for it to work, and a friend of mine is on his 5th reinstall/update and it still isn't working for him.

It's pretty pathetic. What they felt they needed to change in the water, I don't know. It looks the same as it did to me.

Since getting the mod, all the female characters in the game are slowly revolving on the spot, and not moving.
And certain characters aren't where they should be. Not too bad, but still.
It is quite hilarious in some cases though. :')

It's only out now? I thought that the 1.5 patch has been out for weeks on Steam.
I think that was the BETA version. Now it's official I guess...
On Steam, the PC players are essentially the quality control team. Microsoft and sony won't let bethseda release anything without more testing first.

Ugh, another Skyrim thread, really? *rolls eyes*

Can't we talk about something more recent like Mass Effect 3?

Oh OP I am loving the new kill cams. Finally, something for us magic wielding archers!

That's part of the reason why I am holding off on the PC version. Once they stop constantly patching and there are a lot of great mods out I'll jump on board.
They've actually released a subpatch for PC to address the crashing (1.5.26). Initially, I was having absolutely no problems, but come the release, I'm having video driver crashes and CTD's all over the place. Of course, that might coincide to my computer getting rather *cough* soggy after dropping a glass of water through the main fan, but as far as I'm concerned, the computer was both off and I cleaned the mess up with isopropyl alcohol swabs and a blow dryer directly afterward, no visible water damage. Crysis runs just as well as it used to, no microstuttering (at around 50fps maxed) and Mass Effect/Battlefield Bad Company 2/Just Cause 2/The Witcher I've been able to play for hours on end with absolutely no issues. I can even max Furmark (ultimate PSU and GPU integrity test) and still get no crashes. I think this specifically has to do with the game. Bethesda always seems to go about fixing one thing and ends up unintentionally breaking another :'(...

Mods don't really make the games all that better.

Sure, they can sweeten the experience somewhat, but if you didn't like the game to begin with, mods aren't going to suddenly change your mind.

I remember getting Oblivion on my Xbox, and then I got it on PC. After faffing around with mods for a while, I didn't really see what the fuss was all about.

And the modding community consist of perverted man-children. Seriously, how many fucking nude mods do they need?
1000's of hours worth of extra quests via mods.

A lot of mods out there are bigger than most DLC. Some mods are a lot better than the official DLC.

There are total conversion mods to make it into an entirely different game.

Mods can make the game a hell of a lot better .... if you find the right ones.

If you just skim the most endorsed files then yeah, it's full of "nude" mods (had to highlight that word because a lot of them aren't nude mods for the sake of being nude, they are body mods. They change body shapes).

Plus I find a lot of armour in the games plain and dull so either download or make my own.

I like Assassin type characters but the Dark Brotherhood armour is shit so I got...

I've got tons of housing mods, village and town overhauls, extra NPC's, better followers, much better mounts the list goes on.

HELL YEAH! I've been waiting for this, time to boot up Skyrim and play as my new rouge (arrow killcams here I come) Thanks for the news man!
Rogue.

Rouge is makeup that goes on your face.
Who said anything about playing as a rogue?
You did, unless you are telling me you intend to play the game as rosie red cheeks on the side of someones face...pretty sure thats not in the character creator.
I don't know about you but I enjoy playing as make-up if you don't mind! Never seen make-up using a bow and arrow? thought so...
Nice save....lol

OT: I'm excited for the new kill cams and I'm glad that smithing isn't so incredibly easy to level up now.

Did they ever fix the lag problems on the PS3? I haven't gotten the game yet and I'd like to get it on the PS3 as opposed to the 360 due to it having much more free hard drive space, but after all the stories I've heard about the game becoming unplayable after 80 or so hours I'm a little bit afraid.

Is it just me or are the citizens in Whiterun have really low res clothes? That really bugs me.
I see that frequently in all of the locations in the game. After I posted this thread last week I played the game for a few hours and put it down again. The performance on the 360 is still shit and as much as I try I can't ignore it. Draw distance is gradually getting worse and worse, freezing, framerate drops, frame tearing/pulling, etc. I'm going to wait a few more months and get it on PC when I want to play it again. I plan on playing Morrowind for the 100th time this summer anyway so it might be awhile.

Riveting tale, chap.

Just kidding.
Isn't this something you could have downloaded a community fix mod for?
I'm on the 360.
No offense, but why of all games would you get a Bethesda game on a console?

Like I know a lot of people don't have uber PCs, but buying a Bethesda game on the console is literally kicking yourself in the balls.

No Bethesda game is complete without mods.
I don't have a PC that can run it at the moment, so I bought it for 360. I still have fun of course, but I heave a big sigh every time I start it up and when I notice something I want to change. Mods are awesome. In addition to awesome new quests, houses, enemies, weapons, content, etc., you can also overhaul the way the game works- leveled lists, guard behavior, sneaking, skills, races, leveling, rag-doll and physics, it's just endless. Wait long enough and someone will release a whole new game as a mod.

Modding the game is kind of fun in itself too. Although, like everything with computers, I invariably experience unexpected problems a more intelligent person could probably avoid.

Yea.
I borrowed my friend's ps3 copy. I too will eventually buy goty for the pc after they've done all the patching and all the mods are updated.

I guess the mod that fixes 1000+ bugs in the game didnt make the game better?

Nor did the 100+ hours of new quests I got via mods iddnt make it better?

If you really think that most of it was nude mods then you havent looked at a large number of mods
I wouldn't really count bug fixes as mods but rather updates although maybe I'm just splitting hairs at that point. Nothing wrong with a good mod though.

Is it bad I deleted a 142 hour character, because of a few bugs (major quest bugs tho), to start all over again? I still found some issues, but they have been much smaller ones - and nothing to a major quest line.
