In Skyrim you can choose to either join the Empire or the Stormcloaks.
Wich one did u choose and why?

(I chose Imperial because i thought Ulfric and his band of merry men were a bunch of racist pricks. Besides that i just like the Roman empire and weaponry)

After 80 hours on my lvl 43 mage... neither. I haven't done Companions, Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, Bard's College or even finished the main quest line. Looking back, I'm not sure exactly what I've been doing but apparently I have done 100s of quests lol.

Anyway I just started a new character, an archer/sneak class, and I've always intended to join the Imperials so, yeah. For the Empire! Or something.

So you went with the people who tried to kill you at the start of the game? Okay.

I had to choose the Stormcloaks because I despise the Thalmor.

Well, the Stormcloaks are all nationalistic, rasist nords.
Now they just need leatherjackets, simmilar armbands and a german accent.
Oh, and Ulfric needs a cool new mustache.
So:
FOR THE EMPIRE!

Joined the Stormcloaks because it seemed the natural thing to do. Although further into the game I started to think that Ulfric is just a power-hungry racist douchebag and the empire's really not so bad.

I mean, the worst thing the empire did is outlawing the worship of Talos, but that was a condition forced on the empire because the Thalmor had them by balls. (uh oh. bad mental image. go away!)

And the first major battle in the Stormcloak campaign didn't sit well with me. I liked that town :(

Is it possible to switch sides when you're already deep into the quest line for one faction?

Neither, though I get threatened by Storm Cloaks after I beat the game. I don't know why, I didn't do anything to harm them.

I did follow the Empire person at helgen but it was more of an instinct than an actual choice. Besides, he didn't intentionally try kill me, it was that ***** who dies later. I do hate the Thalmor though, they are just assholes is what they are.

I'm thinking of going Empire, because the Stormcloaks are kind of being dicks. If a city-i-won't-name won't join them, then they take their axes and level half the place.

Legion, i disliked all the moaning the Stormcloaks did and Ulfirc was the reason i was going to die at the beginning and he just didn't care.....and they were kinda racist towards me. Besides i killed my exicutoner in Helgen druing my escape so i felt there was no bad blood between my character and the Legion

I have killed farrr to many Thalmor tho, i'm amazed they let me in.

The dude im currently playing is Dagon of R'lyeh (after the Lovecraftian monster, not the big demon dude from Oblivion) and he is a Argonian mage-type guy(i know Argonians are hardly perfect for mages) and here is my little list of reasons:

at first i saw the Khajit weren't allowed into Whiterun.

Then at Windhelm, i was waiting for the Argonian embassy to open, because they were practically used as slaves, when i got attacked by "hired thugs" yelling:"We don't want your kind here". This was the reason i went all Imperial on their asses

Later i met a travelling caravan of Khajit, somewhere between Dawnstar and Windhelm, who told me that Ulfric refused to send help when they encountered bandits, but he did send help to Nords

Im all for the freedom of religion and i still wear my amulet of Telos( 20% less time between Shouts) but i think that not being descriminated by race is more important than a religion.

i hold no grudge towards the Imps for my execution, because the only reason you ended up with your head on the block is because one, overzealous executioner, who i brutally murdered.

Im thinking about playing as a Khajit rogue next and i'll choose Stormcloaks just to see what's different.

After going around the empire i tried to piece together just exactly what happened, and what both sides were doing. I found that Ulfric had killed a little boy, just to say we want talos. Then there is the whole thing they did to the forsworn. Go to markarth, do the forsworn conspiracy, and you will see just what the stormcloaks did to them. In the end i joined the empire (much to my distaste, you know trying to kill me an all) just to put the bastard down for good.

Well, my character will most likely end up siding with the Stormcloaks for a few reasons.

For one, ever since the Empire turned their backs on his native Hammerfell, and his father perished in the ensuing war, he has despised the Empire. The attempted murder of him at the start of the game was the final straw.

Secondly, the Stormcloaks remind him of his brave folk standing alone against tyranny and he knows that Hammerfell succeeded, why can't Skyrim? Besides, can you imagine an alliance between Hammerfell and Skyrim? Maybe even High Rock will join it and turn it into a triple alliance, as once Skyrim is independent I doubt High Rock will remain with the 'Empire'. The Thalmor would have a much tougher fight against several, strong, spirited independent countries rather than an Empire ruling simply through strength and order, and with a lot of dissent.

On top of it all, the whole "Stormcloaks are racist!!!" debate doesn't really matter to me. In a world like this, plagued by wars, banditry and greed, it is unavoidable that racism thrives, but I like that to be honest.

I sided with the Empire, they might not be perfect but they also aren't racist neo nazi nationalists who mistreat Dunmer and Argonians.
And given that I myself am an Argonian, I take issue with that aspect and will fight with whatever army offers to rid the world of the Stormcloaks. Plus Ulfric tried to attack Whiterun and that's my home town!
Anyway at level fifteen I actually have finally ended the civil war between both sides and I now plan to do some blades missions as well as some other quests along the way.

My character is a proud nord, and I choose the Imperials without a doubt. The Stormcloaks are a bunch of bigots that have caused all the problems in the first place.

The Empire.

The Stormcloaks are nothing but a bunch of xenophobic and nationalistic bigots. The Empire may not be perfect itself, but they only outlawed Talos worship to stop another war with the Thalmor that would've wiped them out. An Imperial victory in the Skyrim Civil War will mean a stronger and more united Empire that may be able to stand up to the Thalmor again in the future.

I've logged over 100 hours into the game and haven't chosen a side yet.

The main reason I haven't chosen Empire is that I hate the Thalmor and the empire is basically a puppet of those smug bastards at the moment. Also, they tried to kill me at the start of the game and that's just not cool man.

The main reason I haven't chosen Stormcloaks is because of their incessant xenophobia since I'm playing an Argonian. I don't really want to fight for people who want to kick me out of their home.

The stormcloaks don't really fit my argonian character and I won't join the empire because of the fact that they are basically controlled by the Thalmor right now, so unless I see something about the empire revolting against the thalmor or Ulfric promoting racial equality then I'll probably never chose a side as my argonian. I'll just stick to slaughtering every Thalmor that I see. It helps both sides! ^_^

Empire all the way. The Stormcloaks are a bunch of racist, xenophobic asshats (they're like all the negative qualities of the Nords overall, magnified), Ulfric has no legitimate right to rule nor any particular talent at it, and their constant war over basically nothing is just making the Aldmeri Dominion's eventual job that much easier.

I think the clincher was when I talked to a few devout Nordic worshipers of Talos who basically admitted flat-out that the ban on Talos worship had essentially no real effect (people still worshiped him openly, just rarely in any official context). The Stormcloaks are just using it as an excuse to rile people up and let them seize power.

It also helps that the imperial guard who called out my name on the execution list was endlessly apologetic while doing so, worked to save my life after the dragon attack, and expressed every confidence during and afterward that my condemnation was a mistake.

Amen. I made an altmer character with the intention of characterizing him as being in the Thalmor's employ (and thus having an excuse to join the Stormcloaks)...but then he started encountering them on his travels, and fell in love with a dunmer, so his characterization has marched on.

I'm a Khajiit, I feel that I wouldn't really be role-playing if I joined them.

And they are a bunch of tossers.
