(Skyrim) Why so hastily ?

Because they've done just that. They've taken the 30 hours of Main Quest to get immersed, and roleplay their characters, their Dovakin (sp), who would do the Main Quest urgently, and not waste time with side-quests. If Dragons were fucking shit up in England, I wouldn't waste time looking around at all of the pretty places, collecting items, and doing random crap for passers-by.JesterRaiin said:

I'm 50 hours in, and I have to say the most exciting moments are when I'm wandering the countryside, looking for berries or new places to discover, and SUDDENLY DRAGON. Seriously, I had one epic half-hour where I ran into and killed five different dragons. I could actually see two of them circling in the sky while I was fighting one on the ground.
And it's moments like that that keep me coming back, and keep me wandering the countryside for hours.

I've had a major issue with one of the quests triggering. "Blood on the Ice" is the quest that you must complete in order to marry Shahvee (The only marry-able argonian female in the game). Well, in order to trigger it, you must enter Windhelm at around 2:00 AM to find a murder scene in the graveyard and initiate the quest. Well, this never worked and I wasted about 3 hours trying to get the damn thing to trigger.

I'm at 198 hours played and I'm still finding new stuff. o.o I haven't even done a lot of the main questlines yet.

I think that if you start the Mage Questline (Winterhold), you'll be able to get into Saarthal.

Simple answer, the world, while beautiful, gets dull, I've walked around, and there's yet a town or a person I've met, that I'd actually want to take some interest in, the most exciting thing so far was screwing over a deity. I hope it comes back to bite me in the ass, probably won't... but still.
Just came to Riften, found it pretty dull.
Skyrim is a perfectly crafted world, however, the stories that are within it, are hardly engaging, at least for me there aren't that many. The mage academy is showing some promise though, even though you can't develop a relationship with anyone there, at least that was my impression.

For me anyway I actually discovered the quest line tips before the actual murder scene maybe if you look for people you can question about it. (I think for me it was the Captain guy) Then when I walked around a corner I found someone else had been murdered. The people I spoke to only mentioning 2 murders.All Hail Lelouch said:

I have close to 100 hours played and I still have not finished several of the major quest lines, like the civil war, nor the main quest line. Part of the reason is that when my first character reached level 20 or so I decided to make a new one. And when my new character hit level 25 I decided to play on the first one again. ^^
Also I get distracted with side quests and exploration all the time. And ofc I need to tidy up my manor in Solitude now and then.
Unfortunatly the latest patch have made my game unplayable. I get memory leaks that make the game lagg like there is no tomorow. So I can't play untill Bethesda starts cleaning up the mess the have made.

Damn...guess I'd better go do those Thieves Guild quests so.
OT: Has anyone else stayed away from certain guilds depending on their character build? My guy doesn't use magic at all so I'm staying away from the Mages College for this playthrough...or at least I would've liked to if I didn't HAVE to join them in order to get into Saarthal.
Seriously, that kinda pissed me off.
Anyways, 74 hours in and I've only just learned of the
Dragonrend Shout and the Elder Scroll
go dragon hunting with my squad of Blades. Although would it have killed Bethesda to make a light variation of the Blades Armor?
Some people like to finish the main quest in a hurry. To be totally honest with you, I haven't the faintest idea why. I've spent a hell of a lot of time on Oblivion and I have never once actually completed the main quest. There's just so much else which I could be doing that's so much more fun than it.
It's roughly the same with Skyrim, even if the main quest is better due to a lack of "Go here, close four Oblivion gates, lather, rinse, repeat.". I still do enjoy messing around and doing sidequests a hell of a lot more than I do constantly campaigning for the destruction of dragons.

Im about 120 in my first game and ive done all the main stories except the companions because it glitched. I can't remember how long it took me but I know I was past level 50 before I finished the main story.
On my second game im about 25 hours in and not even done the golden claw mission yet.

I must be 80 hours in. Still haven't done more than the first five main story quests. My first 40-50 hours were spent doing every dungeon and side/misc quest I came across. After doing that and clearing basically everything in the bottom half of the map I've been doing the guild quests for the last 30-40 hours - just the thieves guild to go now. Maybe once that's done I will finish the main quest. I might get side-tracked by choosing a side and doing the remaining daedric quests though...

i haven't done much of the main quests at all, just a few quests in, about to hit the softcap. Maxed sneak/archery, maxing illusion next before hitting softcap, have other perks spread around. Did thieve's and companaions, avoided the magic college for a later playthrough w/a magic character, did a ton of side quests though, have seen a lot of the side-quests in the game i think but there's still plenty undone that I'll be able to see for the first time in later playthroughs.
Once i hit the softcap i may start in on the main quests at long last.
next character will be pure mage, max difficulty. maybe 'dead-is-dead' rules, or i might save starting on DID games until after my second playthrough.

I keep remaking characters since I can never stick to the goal I set out, i.e ignore that quest, don't join that faction etc etc. But even if you do finish Skyrim's main quest does it really matter? The game still continues the only difference is people won't be yelling at you to go fight Alduin or whatever. I still haven't beaten the game ha ha so I'm just talking out my ass as far as what the people would say after the story.
