Just a bow for my main weapon, but a short sword and a light shield in the new hotkey-type favorites menu. I always find a thief or mage hard to roleplay as, because you never see any heroic thieves or mages in films or games involving dragons and/or swords.

I'm going to imitate Gandalf the White. That is, a staff in one hand and a hand-and-a-half in the other
I was going to have two daggers, but I've now changed my mind. I wonder where I could find a nice white robe...

While I doubt they'll have defensive weapon use, I always like seeing a sword and dagger properly paired together.

A spell and another spell. or maybe a spell and a dagger, if stealth characters are better than they were in oblivion.

I'm going into Skyrim with no plan at all. I intend to mess around with the game before I ultimately decide what I will be doing for a character.

I am partial to swords though, so I will probably check out dual wielding those first.
This, for me. Chances are I'll give everything a try then i'll decide what i like most.

Longsword and Shield. Dragonclaws and teeth aren't high on the list of "Stuff i could have avoided tearing chunks out of me if i hadn't tried to look badass"

I was never much of a Magicka fan and didn't invest time creating or learning spells beyond healing ones. I'll dabble with it in Skyrim to see what it can offer but i doubt my Nord will use it much beyond healing and shouts

Dual fork of horripilation
Win!!!

Out of curiousity a while back I looked up what horripilation means. It means getting goose bumps.

And my choice, a long sword and a short sword. I think I'll regularly swap out the short sword for a spell or whatever as I need it.

I'm a total N00B to Elder Scrolls.....so I'll probably pick up the nearest stick and throw it at my enemies or sth.....

But seriously, Suggestions?

A bigass sword and a badass axe...

But that depends if I get the game, 'cause, you know, oblivion sucked

i'm probably going to play through a few times. the first time i'll go nord with dual weild maces or maybe axes, the second time a breton with dual destruction spells, third time argonian with dual daggers (so badass!).

Thought about this a lot: Axe/Mace in one hand then a healing or destruction spell in the other is one possibility, Dual axes is another (if there is a dual 2-handed weapon perk I'll use 2-handed if not then I wont), possible Gandalf combo staff in one hand sword in the other and finally for my sneaky character an illusion spell in one hand then a dagger or (if they introduce them) a crossbow.

On another note these are all playthroughs I've decided to use: 1/2 Both Nords one at least will be called Beowulf and then another typically viking name for the other, 3 is a Breton who I will make look as much like Gandalf as I can but probably with armour finally 4 is a Khajiit and will probably be my favourite if sneak attack bonuses are still hilariously overpowered.

Yeah I've really put a LOT of thought into this... but then again who hasn't.
