Hi all, it's early but I was reading some of the articles on Skryrim, catching up on stuff I missed, and I saw they were going to have books in it again - like, 300 of them.

Now, I may be the only crazy lady here, but does anyone else really hope that they make it so that you can organize your books in your houses? I was a collector in Oblivion, but all my beautiful volumes ended up in horrid, messy piles scattered around by my walking through a room or knocked down by my damn maid who never lifted a bloody finger to put them up nicely in the empty shelves. The hours spent trying to angle books in that jiggly-grab-stuff-mode just make me want to cry. Little dramatic, but there it is.

So... any chance they did? Or does anyone else hope they did? ...or am I the only crazy person here this morning?
I had lots of books to but I just put them in a cabint

Eventually I did too, when I gave up on some repeat play through and choose sanity over perfect shelves... but it was a close decision. Still, it made them somewhat less for me to have them just part of a list with my other swag.

You know hey could do it. Just have the pick up key snap whatever object you're jiggle holding immovable in relation to the floor. Books now perfectly vertical for shelving pleasure.

OMG ... I want that so bad.

Although, they could just make it easier by turning bookshelves into containers, that graphically update when you add books to it.

Had a friend who dropped every book in the game (that he could find) into one great big pile in his house and said he was role playing a hoarder. He quit after his massive pile o' stuff wasn't nearly as impressive as the loading time. It was rather flatish despite having everything from books to broomsticks in it.

So, personally, I like the graphically updating style of bookshelf. I like looking at them not practicing my house of cards building skills.

I usually keep the majority of my books in a chest, with only a choice few out and about. However being able to properly put them on a book shelf without lots of futzing would be nice.

I used to dump all my collected stuff, including books, behind Arvena Thelas' house in Anvil, and it was a total mess. 40-odd sigil stones made it lag like hell. So yes, I would really like rearrangeable bookshelves, though I don't see it as being likely.

That would work. I mean, there are only so many styles of book they have programmed anyway it shouldn't be that hard to make it just "appear" when its in that type of container right? I know nothing about coding so I have no idea about the work involved.

I just like the idea of being able to give your house some personal touches. I mean I just earned 60,000 dollars to buy a house let me put shields on the walls or give it a color scheme.

Gosh yes, that would be incredible.

I remember spending hours not only rearranging books, but weapons and armor and little jewelry and artifacts I found in game (did the same in Fallout 3 as well). It made it feel like I was some sort of adventurer/collector.

Having an easier system for that would be great, I agree.
