That you made up.

I was watching Hatchet (I didn't like it) and started thinking about all these stupid serial killers (Jason Borrhees or w/e, Freddy Krugar, Mike Myers ect.) and I made up my own movie.

It's simple really, Rich english guy looses his mind and during a a great party he murders all the guests and does soemthing to his wife (nothing perverted) that would make all the NC-17 movies in the world look like Hello Kitty on Ice. Oh and he looks cool too.

So I thought 'why not see what other people think up' so.......COMMENCE DISCUSSION!

I don't like the slasher films. They creep me out and give me nightmares :(
Although your premise sounds a bit better than most of what's out there.

Well, I will say that the only slasher movie I like (that's what they're called) is the Saw series, because of the psychological and philosophical aspects of it. Jigsaw's psychological motivations are honestly intriguing and fascinating, and the way he plans the traps around the person's "sins" are fascinating.

Yeah, any slasher can be improved with the simple addition of plot. And water. And a dash of vinegar. Good outline, btw.

I'll agree with you there. For the record I hate most of them because of how the try to incorporate a plot but in the end they some how loose it between all the fake blood and guts.

This. I'm not a big fan of scary movies, mainly because I don't like being scared and have never seen the fun in it.

In my opinion, no slasher movie will EVER be as awesome as Friday the 13th: Part 6.

It was stupid, bloody, corny, over the top, and had a kick-ass theme song [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfsjDkyMZSI] by Alice Cooper. It is the epitome of slasher films.

It's the kind of movie you can pop in a just make you feel all warm and fuzzy, inside.

What you said sounds rather similar to American Psycho. In this a rich American goes insane and kills 20 people. Quite a good movie tbh. Has Christian Bale. I think a good slasher is you have a normal guy. Slowly he begins to hear voices telling him various people are evil. Soon he gets a dream about a murderer. The next day that same man gets arrested for murder. He begins to do the voices bidding and while his friends figure out something is going wrong. The voices begin to lie and when the man kills his first innocent he goes fully insane and loses all self control. This results in a killing spree...brutally ended with some sort of impalement.

You know your idea is probable one of the most original ideas I have heard in a LONG TIME! Thank you, that is exactly what I was looking for. I've had basically the same idea except no reason for the murders. Course normally you wouldn't need a reason but this would be for the main character who you were suppose to care about. DAMN you are awesome.

Haha thanks. If you can build on it or anything I'd love to see the results. And I'm not awesome...just slowly trying to balance off the build-up of bad movies with brilliant ideas. Modesty not included.

If so you and I think exactly the same. I've been thinking about that for years now. Seriously though you are awesome.

I thought this thread was going to be about good "serial killer" movies like Se7en.

Yeah, or silence of the lambs. Wasn't expecting it to be a thread about slasher horrors (although I quite like Nightmare on Elm Street)

I don't care for slasher movies, BUT Dexter is the best of the best of anything to do with serial killers.

Rent the first two seasons on DVD and you'll waste days watching all the episodes in a row.

the greatest slasher of all time would be a vigilante type story. there's a guy in a rediculous mask (don't pretend you dont see it, they ALL wear stupid masks) running around the city dropping in on petty thugs and mafia hitman, and gutting them like fish. eventually he kills the currupt mayor, soon he starts destroying people for even smaller offences like adultery or even group sex. finally he is convinced (by the big breasted heroine) that HE is a monster as well, and he ends up killing himself

...or does he?

Oh fuck lets not get into that. Tis a silly film, admiteddly an amazing film, one of my favourites, but a damn silly one nonetheless.

I am not sure if he does but there is a part where he talks with his therapist and things get very...confusing. But Christian Bale's descent into insanity is brilliant and I think that Horror Movies need more characterization for the villain. If people realize that the killer was an average Joe, (but is notyouraveragejoe now, snap see what I did there?) then things get even more terrifying.
