Have you ever read a book/played a game/watched a movie, and being so tired that what I like to call "sleep immersion" starts acting up? What I mean by that is that you're so tired that you actually get the idea that you're the main character in the book/game/movie. I got it last night, while reading one of those popular teenage love books (school assignment, I didn't pick it, although it's actually pretty good), and I felt such a connection to the main character that I actually thought I was the character by the end of the night before deciding to put the book down.

This ever happened to you, or is my sleep deprivation making me crazy?

Also, it might have been because I was so tired that I couldn't read it properly, so when I got around half of the words of every sentence, it felt almost like a blurry memory or something like that, so that might have added up to my dizziness.

Hey if the author can make you feel like that, he deserves a prize.

Preferably a penguin.

After I finished Assassin's Creed, I was about to go to sleep and I heard "Fast-forwarding memory to a more recent one" in my head.

Happens if I'm really tired, however sometimes if it's something good like Day of the Jackal, then I'll just forget about sleep entirely.

What I mean: You, for example, read a book, and you're so tired and dizzy that you believe that you're in the book.

Mine are more commonly game-related than book related. I think it has happened to me a few times though. I've also had music that was playing on a stereo invading my dreams. One standout example being 'Megatronic' by Powerman 5000, which I remember hearing in a dream, pointing out that I knew the song, and then waking up with the music still playing. It was pretty disorientating.

That sounds like the lines of fatigue induced hallucination... Hmm... No I have never had that before but...

I was hearing music in my sleep, it was really weird. Another time i dreamt two characters in my dream who were saying exactly the same as my parents, who were having a discussion

Yes I have. When reading "The Color of Magic". I was barely reading, I was at that same field he was, the one that's radiated, but only, with magic.

There have been times after I played a game for a few hours then went to sleep, that when I woke up, I thought I was still playing the game and my alarm clock is either someone yelling or an enemy.

I guess that's what I get for getting 4 hours of sleep a night regularly. Damn insomnia

Yes, definitely a penguin. But no, that has never happened to me. However I have been reading before sleeping and dreampt about the story. It was weird because it had all the characters but took a whole new direction in the story line. it was kinda sad though, when I woke up, I wanted to read more about the dream story and not the actual story.

If its the last thing I think about when I go to bed yes, its really easy to influence my dreams. Then again its not exactly accurate after I got done playing L4D I went to bed and had a dream zombies were after me, I was in a mall and the people from the matrix started the outbreak and were after me because I knew and the zombies were allergic to curtains and avoided them so as long as I had a curtain with me I was safe, yeah I know that's not true on a real zombie outbreak my subconscious is weird like that. So really I just have characters or main ideas appear I'm never in the main characters position.

Not exactly the same, but sometimes I can accidentally merge my game and the real world for a split second. For example once when I was playing CoD, and whilst waiting to respawn I looked out my window and for a second I expected to see someone pop up from behind the cars. Also when I first got Starcraft I'd been playing it for hours, so I went to watch some TV for a break. Before I changed the channel there was a programme where two guys were walking up to each other to talk and I genuinely wondered for a moment why they weren't shooting each other.
