Sleeping without waking up messed up

Hello fellow Escapists,

I just went to bed, and I just got up as well. Result of my day/night-rhythymn being slightly fucked up. Needless to say, I'm already getting tired again, but shamefully enough for me there isn't really enough time left to actually go to bed and sleep; I'd wake up tired and feeling horribly and I'd be too late for my appointment further on the day.

And so my question to you is, what is the best way to get one or two hours sleep if you can't get undressed and hop in the bed? Do I go on the couch with relaxing music? Do I drink warm milk with honey?

Help an escapist out here.

Lay down and close your eyes. If you're tired enough, that should be all you need.

Errr... I normally just wait it out, I am not a fan of napping... Thats why I am awake at 7:30AM and planning on going to bed soon-ish, my sleeping pattern is screwed as well as my sleeping length... But the "resting" PILLZ sort that right out. :D

Stop going to bed late and getting up late. Thats what my problem is now and I've been up for over an hour with like.. 3 - 4 hours sleep and I havent bothered going back to bed cos I know I'm up in 2 hours again.

Just get an early night tonight, get a hot drink and stuff and maybe some food to wake you up.

Hmm, lots of versatile replies. Just going and lying down might be what I'll do, it's just that I'm now doubting whether I should indeed go and sleep again, thanks to the other messages. Curse you, spreading doubt!

I would reall, if I hadn't just showered before. If I'd exercise now I'd have to take yet another shower, which would be my third one in ~16ish hours. I'm getting kind of sick of taking showers.

Wise words, but if I'd screw my appointment right now it'd screw me over pretty badly and could cost me 200 euros.

if i was in ur situation i would drink alot of caffeine (green tea,monsters/redbull,coffee) and just pass out when ur done

Stay up as long as possible, atleast 24 hours, and then you'll find yourself falling asleep.
