When tired enough, I can sleep anywhere. This includes at the back of a moving truck sitting on my backback and resting my helmet against a rifle barrell during a snowstorm while the truck is driving 80kmph in the middle of nowhere. Though that was after two weeks of the most grueling combat training, one I've not faced before or since.

I've also slept on rocks next to an ants nest and also under the stars of clear winter skies only in a sleeping bag (as in, no tent or any other shelter from wind or possible rain).

So yeah, after all that my bed is more than comfy enough. I decide I want to or need to sleep and if I'm even semi-tired I fall asleep within thirty minutes or so. Light or dark, quiet or semi-noicy; doesn't matter.

I have really erratic sleep habits. Sometimes I'm tired by mid-evening, other times I'll sit around until it's daylight and still not be tired. Usually I just happily sleep in my bed, sometimes on the sofa. Generally I have the window open, and the curtains open just a crack - the idea being that it's more daylight when I wake up, so that I stand more chance of actually getting up instead of going back to sleep. Never works, but it's habit now.

Sometimes, if I'm having trouble drifting off, I'll put music on. It has to be instrumental though, which tends to mean post-rock. Last time I fell asleep to music with vocals, my subconscious took hold of the words and inserted them into my dreams in random order. A whole night of dreams as scripted by a random text generator is not something I ever want to repeat.

I can sleep almost anywhere except in a car unless I am exhausted. I have to have my fan on and I love it when my window is open. It can't be hot in the room I am sleeping in or I can't sleep. It has to be cold or cool. I love curling up in my blankets and getting cozy under the covers. I also have to have some sort of noise. I keep the tv on or I turn my iPod on so I have something to listen to. Sometimes I will wrap my arms around a pillow or something. I also love sleeping with someone in the bed with me, whether it be someone I am in a relationship with or a friend of mine.

I can sleep just about anywhere.
I tend to like sleeping on the floor more than on the bed.
Also it helps me if the television is on
