So I'm kind of having a minor breathing problem here. I can breath, but I can't get any real deep breathing in. Like, I still feel sort of, empty, for lack of a better term. Or like I need to yawn but can't. Gonna look it up if it gets worse, but figured I post it here for now. Anyone have any ideas as to whats going on?

Why the hell do people come here for medical advice? How many different things are there that can cause breathing problems? I don't know, I'm not a doctor. If you think you have a problem, go talk to a doctor, because they know the questions that they should ask you to find out what you have, we don't.

Are you prone to anxiety?

You could be hyperventilating. That's when you breath too much, essentially flooding your body with oxygen and starving it of carbon dioxide - which you do need a certain level of.

If that's the case, sit back and breathe slowly. Count ten going in and ten going out. Stop worrying about how much air you're getting - the body's pretty good at working out how much air you need.

Hope that helps.

Asthma. Get an inhaler. I have the "no deep breathing" problem, and it's asthma.

It'll probably pass. If you could have injured your chest area for any reason at all, you may have bruised a rib. That happened to me when I got in a car accident. I felt similar, like heavy breathing just felt [i/]different[/i] than it usually did. It passed. If you drink a lot of caffeine, that may be it too. That happened to my brother. He literally got "addicted", and had heart palpitations and belabored breathing. Trying to get off cold turkey just gave him a headache though. If you think that might be it, don't go cold turkey unless you want to take an ibuprofen every 12 hours.

If you start getting serious breathing problems, go see a doctor.

I have breathing problems like that everyonce and awhile. (I have asthma.)
When I don't have my inhaler on me, I drink something warm.
or I microwave a cup of water, and breath the steam in. It helps me, don't now if it'll help you though.

Deep breath Mrs. Johnson, keep going, keep going, PUSH! Oh...dear god is that blood? *passes out*

May I recommend talking to the physical people in your house that can see you and maybe drive you somewhere if they need to?

My medical school memories never go tpassed the live birth part. I remeber a scream, I think it was me who screamed, then blood, then linoleum speeding twords my face. Cookie if you get the referance!

Go to a hospital if you're worried. I was tempted to ask all the respiratory system history questions but I can't be bothered. Seek medical advice from appropriate sources, sure I'm a senior medical student and I know there's several others, plus a doctor or too here (and a surgical registrar), but you shouldn't really trust anything someone on the internet says in case of trolling.
