So I've been taking a couple of the personality quizzes on the escapist here and this has probably come up before. But Something that actually really bugged me was in the "What type of gamer are you?" Although my result is actually really like myself, I love co-op games more than anything so the "Grouper" is probably best fit either way. But there was a question regarding cutscenes. The choices were "I skip them, they keep me from the action." "Depends, is there an achievement for watching all of them?" "Depends, are they purteh?" and "WHY?! How would I know the characters' motivations?!"
Out of all these, I must say that none of them are my true choice. I don't skip cutscenes to be honest, unless they're poorly placed. Cutscenes to me are as much of the game as the gameplay, if the developer does it right. If it took me forever to beat a boss or a level, I feel rewarded by cutscenes. As someone aiming to be a voice actor, cutscenes are indeed something to look into for me. I don't really know what I think about them. I find that they can attribute to the game, but only if done right. Like making a level dangerously hard or simple as hell and then in the cutscene, your character is injured by one arrow, bullet, knife and they can't move on, or die from something that simple.
