Excellent point, but I have read something about someone in distress calling for help in a forum only to be tricked to delete his system32 folder, practically destroying his rather new PC.Pink_Pirate said:i dont really see the harm in it, if they dont know enough about computers to want to delete it, they probably wont be able to find it anywayNincompoop said:Don't do that. There are people who are stupid enough to fall for that.Pararaptor said:Delete system32.![]()
Technically this would work. You would certainly never have to worry about your computer running slowly again!Pararaptor said:Delete system32.
I am currently running AVG, and so far Spybot - S&D has not conflicted with it. However, your mileage may vary. But in theory, it should not.Tharwen said:What everyone else on this thread said. Use CCleaner and defragment often, or if you're feeling brave, format your hard-drive. If the computer's too old, though you may find it hard to get drivers afterwards.
Also, if you have anything appearing when you turn the computer on that you don't use, you can enable them by going to Start>Run>"Msconfig">Startup, then disabling anything you don't want, BUT DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING YOU DON'T RECOGNISE.
In Vista or Win 7, you can just type msconfig into the start menu.
This is slightly off-topic, but does that conflict with AVG?Blimey said:Also, get and run Spybot - Search and Destroy. The scan can take abit, but if you have any spyware, adbots, bugs, trojans, etc, then it will find and remove them.
why don't you try that, then get back to me.Pararaptor said:Delete system32.
I was thinking more throw it out a jet plane at Mach 3, but hell, whatever works for you.666Chaos said:I find that a 12lb sledge works wonders on a computer. That or if you toss it off a nice high bridge it can go pretty fast.
