Gameplay surprises: The little moments when playing a game when you discover something that is extremely fun to do that you were previously unaware of. I'm talking about those little details that somehow passed you by but that, once discovered, have brought you lots of fun.
I have two of these, one of them quite recent.
First off, Team Fortress 2. I think I bought the game back in 2008 mostly because of Portal and the Half Life episodes. I've been playing it on and off since then.
I used to play pretty much all the classes but never had any interest in the Soldier (mostly because I sucked). Recently, I decided to try to master the rocket launcher.
And man, it's been way too much fun than I expected... And the reason is the rocket jump. Yeah, I knew you could do it but I never imagined how much fun I'd have using it to ambush unsuspecting players
The other one was sometime around 2005, playing Fallout 2. However, this can be done on all the Fallout RPGs: That sweet, sweet moment when you realize you can stick an active explosive in someone's pants
Ah, what a joyous explosion.
So, what are yours?
