I'm just asking a little gymnastics question stemming from a little curiosity.
I'm curious about the overall direction of the Russian artistic gymnastics team following their decline during 2008. Is there a juniors program that they are hoping to transplant fully by 2012 or something? I mean, russian coaches seem to be everywhere but in Russia. I don't know how the situation is over there, can anyone explain or provide a link where that is touched upon?
Also, darn, but Anna Pavlova seems to have an olympic related bad heart-attack everytime she goes in there. Does anyone know if she'll still be competing now that Beijing is over and done? after all, she's 20 years old. A youngster for anyone's standards, but in the world of gymnastics, that spells a hell of a lot of "ifs" (life expectations, injuries & whatnot) for someone competing at that elite level, especially women. And last I saw she was quoted as saying "It is an intolerable error for an athlete of my experience," regarding her error at vault(ouch!), which seems that if anyone's angry at her, she's beating herself up real good for everyone about that one.
