Brilliant film...but more importantly - Pretty damn good tie in games as well. Quite a rare thing should be noted

It was made by Joe Dante, the guy who also made Gremlins. He seems to have a thing for putting families in danger at the hands of a bunch of tiny psychopaths.

Except Gremlins didn't have Barbie Terminators.

I remember it. Had the movie on VHS, the game on playstation, and there is even an old Chip Hazard action figure lying around the house somewhere.

That game was really great for a movie tie-in.

Why are the Gorgonites not in this trailer at all? They were my favourites!

Archer was such a boss, and I totally cried at the end when he they sail off to their home island.

EDIT: I also had the Archer toy and probably Chip Hazard too

Don't think I've ever seen that move
Sounds like many here enjoyed it when being kids.

Basically 2 guys who work at a toy company put state of the art military software in their new toy line to increase profits. The 2 factions: Gorgonites (random coalition of alien action figures with low-tech weapons) have to team up with a random local kid who works at his father's toy store to stop the now homicidal Commando Elite (g.i joe-ish military action figures) to save the neighborhood and win the girl. Needless to say its a typical 90s movie of high concept hilarity in a suburb environment. Plus you can't go wrong with Tommy Lee Jones.

90s were......strange times. The more good movies and media that can be salvaged from it the better.

To be honest, I hated the movie enough on it's own, but I also kept getting it confused with "Toy Soldiers", which is much, much better film about Sam Gamgee outwitting terrorists that hole up in a college and turn it into an armoured fortress. Whenever I think 'toy' is coming on TV and get excited only for it to end up being 'small', I rage a little inside...

Haha, I remember watching that movie quite a few times as a kid. May have to watch it again just because of this thread.
