I was speaking to a couple of friends yesterday, and the conversation came to how they had met, and I found out that a few years ago during the wikipedia raids or however they're known, one of my friends hacked a page, so that it would constantly delete itself, and couldn't be edited. He went to sleep, and when he woke up the next day, he checked the page, eager to behold the destruction he had wrought, only to ind that the code was gone, and a small message had been added by the admin 'Nice Try'. Two years later, they met in their secondary school, and found out that they were both the hacker and the admin.

So, fellow escapees, what odd stories of people coming together have you heard of over the years?

Nothing unusual for me except that a bunch of people I had in school in my elementary and middle school years come to my job sometimes.

I was at a ball game of one of my cousin's, and my Grandpa (who always talks to anybody he can get to hold still for a few seconds) was talking to a father of one of the other kids. It turned out that this dude was friends with someone who went to Burundi the same year my Grandpa was there, and in fact my Grandpa had met this person there. Pretty soon it turned into a discussion of boring stuff like cars, but this happens pretty much every time my Grandpa talks to people.

Internet wise nothing all that special, but me and Swollen Goat live pretty close to each other.

In real life, there are way to many coincidences like this to recount on.

My dad gave a lift to this guy, his car broke down over a pass through the Cascades. So we took him to th nearest town to call a tow truck.

Turns out, he was an engineer who build the big red tank on the space shuttle. Yeah, i met a rocket scientist.

I've met Louie Vito(5th place men's snowboarding in the Olympics this year) before. My dad used to work at the radio station his dad owns here in Ohio. It was quite a while ago, and he would have been my age, but I get to say something halfway interesting.

If you care about the Olympics, that is.

A troll on an old forum I was on (every one has that loveable troll who just keeps coming back) turned out to go to the same college as I now do, and lives near my current girlfriend. Needless to say, I dropped out of the community rather swiftly as he started talking about meeting.
I've met a good few people who meet on the internet only to find they go to the same school or whatever. Most make a friendship out of it, but usually I find they're incredibly different offline. That or they're boring people to start.
