Alright, I remember this game from back in the day, I'm pretty sure it was for SNES but it could have been from NES too. It was a super fun game but I forgot the name of it. Even though I have done extensive google research I have come up empty handed, so maybe you smart people could help me out with this 
Here is the description of the game:
2d platformer with some kind of anthropomorphic animal as a protaginist. He could get special abilities that involved his hair, I.E. Mohawk that acted as a boomarang, etc. Two levels in the game that I remember was a haunted house, but more specifically a tower in mid construction that had a giant egg at the top.
Unfortunatly this is all I remember, though I wish I could remember more. Anyone have any leads?
