It's a snow day for most schools in Indiana today which happens to include my school =]!

I was wondering what all of your favorite snow day memories are(Hopefully you've all had one, if not God bless you you poor souls).

I never did anything all that interesting on snow days (I'm in college in Rochester now, so we don't close for anything short of 2 inches of ice on absolutely everything). I usually went sledding with friends or stayed inside and played video games.

Living in Canada, more importantly the prairies, they are not to easy to hand out snow days. In my life, I have had 3 I think, which is ridiculous, considering how much it snows here. The only times where we have gotten a day off school were 2 blizzards, with absolutely 0 visibility, and the 3rd time, the heater broke in the school, and it was too cold to work in. They are never fond memories, because it is always way too shitty outside to do something fun, like tobaggan or hang out with friends, so it would always be stuck inside. But that doesn't mean I didn't play the hell out of my super nintendo!

My last 3 years of high school, we couldn't buy a snow day. We might have had one during that entire stretch. My little brother is a freshman, and he's already had 4 or 5 this year. Over MLK Jr. weekend, he had a 5 or 6 day weekend because of the holiday and snow days. While I went to work every day. Jerk. I haven't had class canceled by snow in college yet either. There was one cancellation, but I didn't have class that day.

Lucky dog!
The campus was closed for part of the morning, but it just happened to be the part I don't have class in.

I got another 20cm today. That's on top of the already astronomical amount of snow I have. I still don't get a snow day... its okay though I live like 2 minutes from all of my classes.

Never had one of those. Even if there's a good 30 cents of snow here right now. Those snowplows get going at like 3 AM to get the roads open, so even if there would be half a meter, no school would be closed.

I grew up in Denver, Colorado and a snow day there only happened on the days when we got 4 feet of snow. Now, I drive a Ford Explorer which is amazing for the snow. Last time one of those storms hit I was a senior in high school and I took said Explorer out in the 4 foot snow and essentially went drifting around my neighborhood. Later that day my brother, my neighbor and I made a massive jump (about 7 or 8 feet tall) and took my neighbors dirt-bikes to it. That day was AMAZING!

Hah, I'm having a snow day as I type this message right now!

Though, that does mean I lose a day of spring break...

When I was in highschool we'd get snow days fairly often. We get a fair amount of snow here on the east coast. People from a pretty wide rural area went to my school, so if there was any chance the buses couldn't make it, they'd cancel it. Now that I'm in university, however, they rarely cancel it. The only time I've ever had a even a canceled class, is because one day the power went out... and it was in spring, haha.

As for my greatest snow day memory? During exams in highschool, if there was a snow day, the entire exam schedule would get bumped ahead by a day. So, an exam I had on that snow day would happen the next day. I had just written my last exam on Wednesday, but other students still had exams on Thursday and Friday, so I was pretty happy to have the long weekend. Lo and behold, snow days on Thursday and Friday. Six day weekend? Heck yes!

Snow Days growing up were awesome. I lived immediately next to the City of Windsor, which rarely ever got snow days. However my town was counted as part of Essex County and if they declared a snow day then we also had snow days. It was always fun to laugh at my friends who lived in the city who had to go to school :). Also LOTS of gaming. And if my parents ever made me go to school(schools still open, busses just cancelled) the teachers wouldn't actually teach due to lack of students, they'd put each grade together and just let us have fun. :)
