I was pegged in the eye once. It hurt a lot and my mates laughed, but that's about the most embarassing snow injury I had.

To get back for that, I found a big sheet of hard snow (not ice) and threw it at his poor, delusional arse. Apparantly it stung quite a bit... yeah I didn't want him to tell me that either...

I managed to fracture both my big toes, damage my knee lightly and have a slight concussion while playing Rounders (read rounders as baseball) How?

We were playing inside and I ran into the wall
Go me(!)

EDIT: Not a snow injury but a injury that happened due to snow.

I've had loads from skiing and snowboarding.. But the worst one would have the be 3 years ago in Zurmatt, Switzerland, I can't remember why but I lost control, going full pelt down this run, went into the air ad landed on my back/head on a icy patch. It was because of that crash that I now wear a helmet. My Dad ripped his calf muscle last week on the first day of our holiday, he wasn't too impressed.

I got the classic snowboarders injury (broken wrist) in probably the only snow in Holland (this indoor ski centre they had near where I was staying)

We did a snowball gauntlet today. Get everyone lined up in two rows and have people run between them, being pelted with snowballs as they go.

I'm bruised up but triumphant, I got through without being hit......the second time.

For a long time I went snowboarding in shorts and t-shirt once a year. And on every single try that was the one time I truly and completely crashed, resulting in huge bruises and abrasions.

Used to live in a ski resort so there's lots of injuries witnessed. The most evil one was a tourist who just arrived for a 2 week vacation, literally was on his skis for 30 seconds until somone crashed into him, sending him home with two leg casts. A few small avalanches, good fella taking the wrong turn and dangling off a cliff caught by bushes... but the most dangerous is apres ski = drinking lots and lots while still wearing ski boots.

@ Poomanchu745: mouse hand, eh? Now that is cruel. :(

About two or three years ago, it snowed a lot, and since the gritters (The people who drive around sprinkling grit on the roads to de-ice them, not sure if you have them over the pond or in Aus) don't go down my road, because it's steep enough that the gritters won't go down it easily, but not steep enough for it to be a danger, meaning they have to for H&S reasons, it had been very snowy, then the snow was compacted by the cars going down the hill (No-one could get up) it meant that there was very, very little friction.
I bet you're wondering when someone got hurt aren't you.

My friend had an old skateboard, and had taken the axels (Axles? My speeling of some werds is treibble)[sub]Yes that was a joke, a terrible one at that[/sub]
Anyway, they took them off and put some wax on the bottom side. His idea was that you take a running start, and jump onto the board and slide down the road, he knew it would work because "He'd seen his cousin do it"

Though you might not expect it to, I was wrong and it worked perfectly, it was just the balance of the person after the jump that was a problem, which we had nailed after an hour. This meant that we got bored and built a little ramp out of snow, and packed it hard so it would take our weight, we soon managed to get pretty good at that, with a few falls every now and then.

Then, as a friend who I'd invited that lived a road away had a go, and was pretty good. Then on his second go, he tried the jump, and landed it, if a bit shakily, as he slid further down the road and then the first friend, who barely knew the guy, came running out from some random persons drive and rugby tackled the unlucky guy!

Friend 1 sprained an ankle
Friend 2 broke an arm and a rib.

All I could do was laugh.
EDIT: tl:dr version, friend was sliding on a skateboard on snow, a frined tackled him and broke his arm and wrist.

I was flying down the mountain. It was my first run of the day and I had more confidence than a Republican. I wwas also the first to go down the run so it had several inches of powder over the whole thing.

So anyways, I'm flying down the mountain and the people in the line for the lift are watching me, waiting for something amazing. I'm still not quite sure how it happened but next thing i know, i caught an edge and I'm rolling down the mountain, board spinning around in circles. I finally stop rolling and i lay broken in a pile

The medic guy skis over and asks if I'm ok but i can't speak. It was as if i lost my voice falling. I managed to choke out "can't move". That seemed to set off in alarm in his head. He grabbed his radio and called in a snowmobile (MW2 FTW). It came and picked me up. We drove to the medical facility and i was informed that i had dislocated both of my shoulders.

I cracked the bone in my leg by sledding into a tree. Gave up on all that and walked home.

Is starvation an injury? Becuase if it keeps snowing here in the U.K. I'm gonna run out of food, also, I'm running dangerously low on teabags. I'm English... we do not like the cold.
I've got it worse than that - I'm English trapped in Scotland! Went for a pleasurable drive in the country on Saturday only to dodge skidding cars on the M90. No actual injuries but I buried by Fiat Panda in a snow drift to avoid slamming into the back of a crashed car.

Even the Panda got off without a scratch even if did have to push the thing loose of the snow bank. Fortunately it only weighs moderately more than a bag of peanuts. Is there a category of vehicle for when the car weighs less than the animal its named after?
Heh, it's really bad near my home near Birmingham, and I head back to university, in Leeds, on Saturday. Apparently it's gotten so bad up there that motorists are being advised to carry shovels in their vehicles when travelling near Leeds so they can dig their cars out of the snow if they get stuck :D

When I went skiing once I was couldn't be bothered weaving or anything because nobody was in front, so I just went down straight without stopping. I picked up way too much speed though and hit a bump, sending me flying and causing me to smash my face on some ice.

I realized when I met back up with my mates I had a some crazy bruise/cut under my eye, and cuts all over my face bleeding. I was wondering all the way down why people were looking at me! Hah, I don't know how I didn't notice the blood in the snow when I stood up, or for that matter how I didn't break my face.

I heard its hitting the rest of the country pretty hardcore. In my office I'm doing a lot of work with some companies in Manchester who got snowed out of their offices yesterday. Today our Bristol regional office can't get in to work.
