First things first, click this link and just write down/memorise your first thought: http://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20090610/twl-boy-9-shot-dead-in-video-game-row-3fd0ae9.html

Okay, so... did anyone else look at this and think "some stupid kid killed his bro- oh, they're gonna blame games, maybe"?

I don't know if it's just me, but I see video games and "killed" highlighted in a title, I think "fuck".

Anyone?

Natural selection at work.
That was my second thought, sadly I found it incorrect as the boy killed his brother, not himself.
I thought of that too, but in the end they're brothers and probably raised the same way so the brother must have been just as unstable.

Ouch... So, who's up for house of the dead 4 then? Anyone?

Anyway, Why blame games AGAIN? Aren't there any other causes of influence? Like wars, crime, domestic violence, paranoia in the media, why has it always been games recently?

Oh, and since I usually answer that question, I'm not going to this time, as I'm bored of saying it so much.

Sounds bitter to me. I think some games are violent purely because developers CAN do it. I also think the abolition of violence in games may see developers be more creative with their games. We may finally be able to say good-bye to abominations like 'Left4Dead' or 'Fallout 3'.

Perhaps my exhausted brain is not processessing this correctly, but I do believe that article does not condemn videogames as training for murderers.

As far as we know, these kids, both aged under 13, could have been playing Mario Party.
