I look at my stats and I don't think I'm a lurker... and then I sometimes see a topic and just go "fuck it" and don't post.

I'M SO CONFLICTED!

Most of the time someone states what I was going to say first so it's just not worth repeating it, who would want to read through pages of the same statement repeated over and over or just people saying I agree with post 15.

Typically I guess I am, I usually see someone who essentially said exactly what I wanted to say and I feel I shouldn't re-post something already stated. =/

I do feel your pain though for whenever I put up a topic.

I am an official lurker. I am not a very opinionated guy, so I rarely have any reason to post.

I have to say this is a very interesting trade to just lurk. And I am only posting to show i am not a lurker but to be honest there is nothing i can say of new to contribute for this discussion that I can remember right now. So probably I should have just lurked.

What is wrong with being a Lurker anyway? It's not like we are Troll:ing, Flame:ing, or Rage:ing at anyone, so where is the harm in being a Lurker I ask you (all included)?

Sure, it might not be all that interesting, but to me it comes down to a question of, voicing redundant opinions, or agreeing with previous posters. I mean, what is the point, and where is the point in discussing something, if my particular side of the reasoning already have been made?

To raise my posting counter?
To gain popularity with individuals I may never meet, and most probably don't have that much in common with in real life?
To try and win a discussion on the internet? (hardiharharhar)

I mostly read, because I have a tendency to go off-topic on whatever it is the topic is about, and I tend to (OMG, walls of text) write as accurate I passably can, and admit it, most person have a limited tolerance when it comes to how much they bear to read.

It's a time investment, I do not care to waste it, if I not in the mood, witch I'm apparently am right now.

I should stop lurking.

At least for me, a lot of the time what I want to say has already been said by someone before me (as it probably as here, I can't be bothered checking). Unless I have something different to add, it seems rather pointless to just repeat what has already been said.

Insightful reply. Portal reference. Snide remark.
Witty retort. Gordon Freeman reference. Meme endorsing laugh.

In all seriousness it's par for the course. I've been on this big Internet many years now, and purists are a part of life. I myself lurk from time to time. They may intact be simply waiting for the right time to respond

I only ever post if what I have said fully reflects my opinion, and is succinct in doing so. Unfortunately I'm one of those people who find this difficult, so I end up giving up on the post if the phrase I want doesn't come to mind. To that effect, I therefore lurk.

The only reason i lurk is because when ever i post a comment i feel as though other escapist members will laugh when they see my comment.

"Lurker"? I guess I never really thought of it that way. There are just some topics that looked interesting but weren't really worth replying to and some that I couldn't think of how to reply to.

I only lurk if there's either nothing I can contribute, a distinct lack of interest on my part, or if the only thing I can think of to say has been stated many times before...

If you see me with 40 post by the end of the month will be a miracle.
Holy crap, 40 in 1 month? I've been a member for about a year now, I've made maybe 10 posts.

OT: yeah, that's right I'm a lurker, but what can you do? By the time you find a thread all the good stuff has already been said.

EDIT: also this

If I don't have anything to say, or if it's already been said, I don't post. I'll often start typing something, realize nobody cares, and decide to forget about it.

See, I consider a small amount of quality posts better than a huge number of worthless posts.
