So, are you participating in Black March?

Yes, because not putting money into the economy will CLEARLY fight back against a minor increase in data-retention time for people who have looked at child porn!

And then in April, COMPLETELY compensating when everyone buys what they were waiting for!

Sorry, you have to pick your battles, and this isn't one of mine.

No, considering that there will not be enough people participating to make any kind of effect on the economy. Companies are not going to be worried about a few hundred lost sales (because believe me, there aren't going any more supporters than that) while there are still hundreds of thousands/millions of sales happening worldwide over this month.
This is a poorly planned fight which will have no impact whatsoever

No. I will do what I want when I want. I will not miss out on great games, movies or songs for some protest that will end up doing nothing. If the movement gets big enough, and is actually carried out by all those people (I'm talking tens of millions here), then I'll join in. Until there is a sign this is working/will work, I'm not hurting myself for no reason.

Now, there will be few things I consider worth buying anyway, so I'll be semi participating by default, but I WILL be getting Mass Effect 3, and anything else that catches my fancy as the month goes on.

changing some text on a list won't change anything.
I simply try to boycott the companies as much as I can for example I will never buy a EA game for the rest of my life.
if you REALLY want to make your message clear protest, pick up signs and make it clear that this isn't how you want things to be.

A boycott is something you keep up untill they crumble and capitulate, saying there's a definite end to it shows a flaw and a weakness, betrays a grudging acknowledgement that ultimately you're going back to these scumbags. Like a person in an abusive relationship making the choice that in the end you're gonna let them stay in control because maybe they'll change on their own, without you actually giving them a reason to.

My birthday's in March... so no. USE ALL THE CASH TO BUY ALL THE STUFF!!

That, and I'm a "Fuck words, more action!" kinda gal. Never met a problem that couldn't be solved with a little fire. Muhahahaha!

No; two games come out this month I'm considering; Mass Effect 3 (duh...) and Shogun 2: Total War: Fall of the Samurai, which has the potential for awesomeness.

I would like to point out that 17 of the 36 people in that image are not playing modern warfare 2. That is 47.2% of the people on that list. and if you assume that everyone who isn't playing a game did buy it that is still 12 out of 36, or 33%. Sure, some people are idiots that will boycott without any intention of following though, but 33% - 47.2% of these people stuck to their guns. And this was over an issue that wasn't a big deal at all. If this had been a big issue that many people were angry over, 33% would have been a really big deal. It might have meant millions.

Other internet boycott and protest efforts have been highly successful. Less than 2 months ago the internet blackout on January 18th pretty much halted SOPA in its tracks. If we could get even 10% of the people who care about this issue to participate in black march then we will make a huge impact. So if all we can expect from internet protests is 33% then that is better than I was hoping for.

I am participating, but I will buy from companies who openly spoke against internet censorship before January 18th. I pretty much plan on playing Dwarf Fortress for a month.

Too late for me to participate in this because I've already downloaded quite a few songs already. Granted they're videogame music remixes, but nevertheless.

OH NOES

A friend took me to a movie. Well, I didn't account for more wealthy friends wanting to have fun with me.

Still, they haven't gotten my money so it counts... Right? Right...
