What's your opinion of a ham and cheese melt, then? Because that's just a grilled cheese with ham.

I can't really comment on meat in the sandwich. I don't like pork in generally, so my opinion about ham is skewed. I guess I have funny taste buds, because all pork has this really awful aftertaste to me. Other sliced meats just don't fit at all. And if you put hamburger meat in it, then usually the burger overpowers the cheese to the point of it not being a grilled cheese anymore.

So the answer to your question: inconclusive. You'll have to go to the czars if you really want to know.

I understand your feelings about ham and pork, I am the same way. Oddly enough though I love bacon.

Had it when I was living in London, not a huge fan of it. I like pickled vegetables but for some reason the flavor (might have been the color) just didn't do it for me.

What I see from you is that you have an issue with what is done TO cheese, which is fine. I'm not here to argue origins, save for what is and is not cheese. You may not like it, but it's still cheese. I don't see Swiss-lovers crawling out of the woodwork on account of my not liking THAT cheese. It's a difference in preparation, probably treated to preserve it longer than deli slices, and it doesn't rob me the wrong way. But it IS still cheese. Let' leave it at that.

Difficult to describe. I've had relish and this is not relish. Wrong taste, wrong consistancy for relish. It's pretty sweet and it spreads perhaps like a jam with chunks in it. Tastes rather good in my opinion. I WOULD say that eating it explains to me what Yahtzee actually MEANS when he makes reference to the stuff.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on whether or not it's really cheese; for me, saying it's really cheese is like saying a whiskey and coke is still pure whiskey, but I see where you're coming from. As for whether or not Branston Pickle is a relish, I've never had the stuff, but did you know there are tons of different kinds of relish, some of which don't even involve pickles? I mean, in addition to obvious things like Kosher Dill relish and Sweet relish, there's things like Vidalia Onion relish, and tomato chutney, which is also a kind of relish. I guess what I'm saying is, it sounds like a variety of relish to me, just not the kind people usually put on their hot dogs.
