I was looking through my achievements and i realised that i still haven't completed the Halo Wars campaign on Legendary, so i decided to jump on it and play the infamous "Arcadia City" mission. After going through 19 minutes of building Hornets and flying them over to defend a civilian transport i was alerted that "Covenant heavy turrets had just come online" so i thought, "oh well, i only have 1 minute to complete this mission". 9 seconds before the end of the mission, a barrage of plasma hit the transport and destroyed it. 9 seconds!. and just to rub it in, while the "FAIL" screen was up all i could hear in the background was "5,4,3,2...". So now i have to go through the whole mission again and hope that i can do it this time.

But now i ask you. Have you ever been so close to winning something, or achieving a goal, just for you to fail?

Oh yes, on numerous occasions. I recall fighting long and difficult boss fights in games and end up dying when their health bar is mere pixels away from death. Very frustrating.
