The knife is still complete bullshit. Make it a two hit kill for god sake, or remove the auto lock/make it so that you can't knife while being shot.

High killsreaks are still way too powerful, especially on open maps. Try shooting down a Chopper Gunner when you're dead before you can even switch to your launcher.

Most of the MW2 problems were fixed. The exception is the knife, which feels even more ridiculous now that you don't die instantly to gunfire. I swear half my deaths are Lightweight/Marathon guys sprinting at me and lunging 15 feet into my face.

However, Black Ops opened up a whole other set of problems that need to be addressed. From footsteps being completely silent, to snipers being useless, to almost unplayable matchmaking and party issues, there's a lot to hate about BO.

Yeah, Care Packages are dumb, my recommendation would be to not use them.

Could do... but not going to. Dropping the smoke in a corner and then hoping no one gets you is very adrenaline-ish.

It fixed most (if not all) of MW2's main problems. But there are some new ones as well that have already been listed above.

Snipping is not as fun.
Takes awhile to find a match. (but a patch was just recently released to fix that)
Some killstreaks are a bit overpowered.
A few hit detection issues.
Spawinig is really bad.

But overall I'm still loving the multiplayer. And I'm really loving Hardline Pro.

All in all, they fixed what was broken, made a couple of mistakes themselves, and generally made it more enjoyable.
Plus, no more L+M+C Pro people dive-knifing from cliffs or spamming infinite rapid-fire noob-tubes.

They fixed everything, sure they have their own problems but they are nowhere near game-breaking.

Also, I hear a lot of Melee complaints, saying that it auto-locks on, but I prefer that to BFBC2's nigh-on useless melee.
Plus, it never angers me when I get knifed by it. I'm fine with it. Doesn't break the fast-pace.

my only issue so far is because things like snipers and shotguns got nerfed, they don't get used. i've played about 10 hours online so far, on a variety of modes, and been killed about twice by snipers and maybe 4-5 by shotguns.

if you find the RC car annoying, equip flak jacket.

the big killstreaks are... unpredictable? (need a better word there). anyways, some games i've got a chopper gunner out of a care package, only to have everyone hide inside or shoot me down, resulting in poor kills. on the other hand, i've played against dogs on one of the small maps and almost getting spawn killed by the things! then again, i never felt the high end killstreaks were massively overpowered in MF2; if you die just switch to the stinger = done?

You just have to learn to expect the spawn flips and you'll be fine.

Once in awhile I'll be spawn killed, but more often the not, I'm paying enough attention to realize when the spawn has flipped over and adjust as needed.

The reason the spawns are such a problem is because 90% of the gaming population has no clue about how to run a containment style of play, instead they just rush the enemy spawn, find nobody, turn around and get shot in the back...well duh, the game was waiting for you to turn around before it spawned the enemy.

Spawns are based on two factors: Your location and the direction you are facing.

Overall however, I'm enjoying BO so much more than MW2. I couldn't stand MW2 after awhile, it was just too broken.

No, they added dedicated servers to this one. Well...that is if you're on the PC version.

Wow no mention of it in 2 reviews I read (here and IGN), talk about skipping over the important issues. Well thanks for the reply, it's buy-able game (for me at least)...

Black Ops is pretty good so far. While there is some improvement, the game doesn't look or feel as polished as MW2, and some of the maps weren't designed well, leaving me with a sense that SMGs and Assault Rifles are the only practical guns to use. While it wasn't a bad idea to make shotguns primary weapons, they need to be better! Bring back the Spas or something. It becomes sad when you see someone shoot at you 10 feet away with a shotgun, watch the buck shot fly at you and then take no damage.
Two major problems:
-Spawning. Spawning needs to be improved, as there are way to many times you reappear in the middle of enemies who just killed you.
-Parties. I thought MW2 was bad at keeping parties together, but behold, Black Ops is even worse. They even have their own join/invite menu and it still loves to screw up.
So it's ok, I'd give it a 7-8 rating and it'll need improvement before it can compare to MW2.

Yeah, I had the same problem before I prestiged, needed that sentry kill to get ghost pro and I simply never found one to ever destroy...was really annoying.

Oh, and a matchmaking fix is going to be in the first console patch.

Perfect example last night... the whole lobby got to see it in glorious slo-mo as in the final killcam, I shoot a guy with almost a full clip, run up and knife him right in the face standing pretty much ON him, only for it not to register and he kills me with one M16 burst to the leg. My buddies thought it was hilarous.

I have some nice Halo videos too that show the time disadvantage I have. It's very annoying but kinda funny, I have one where I melee a guy twice and almost a second after the second punch he Hammers me dead.

having gotten the game on tuesday and playing online yesterday and today, i think the game is far more balanced, no secondary shotguns, melee is improved,killstreaks dont stack, no quickscoping and a few other things i cant remember.

but does this make the game better? oh and do you think black ops has its own problems? i personally find the spawn system infuriating, i dont know how many times ive had people spawn behind me and kill me.

any opinions?

All I can say is it's different. There was a patch for Xbox about the spawning, also Killstreaks DO stack.
