Have you ever been bullied and what did you do about it?

Ill start.

A few years ago I used to have long hair (Im a guy) and two other lads who got on my college bus decided it would be funny to start picking at my temper. On the last day of term they crossed the line, the more prominant bully kid started by hitting my head as he passed my seat and then sat right behind me to continue picking at my temper. Next he got out his phone and has a sound of a hair razor so he thought he'd put that on my head with that playing to annoy me further. Finally he had half a pack of custard creams, so he crumpled them up and placed the crumbs Into my hair, that completely made me at bursting point.

So we arrive at his stop a minute later and he thinks that he gets away with it and has all holiday for me to forget about what he did to me, but as he steps down the isle, I kicked him in the back of the leg with extreme force and then he turns round to fight me, little did he know im quite handy in a fight so without him landing a single blow he leaves the bus with 2 black eyes, a bent nose, fat lip and fractured jaw.

After a pat on the back and well done from my dad who said "He had it coming, im proud of you son" I got a warning of the police which as of july 21st this year has ran out .

My DNA has been removed from the police system and the bullies life has gone to ruin, hes obese, has no friends, hes on drugs and fails at his schoolwork and exams so yeah...

My lifes Biggest win summed up there. Next?

Nah. I made it very clear by highschool that I was outside of the social hierarchy. Of course, I had no friends, girls never talked to me, and whenever I was mentioned (rarely), it was never in a positive light. But that cliché that its the quiet ones you have to look out for? I played it straight and was left alone for it.

So you committed assault (possibly aggravated) and you didn't go to jail, why?
I'm serious, this kind of thing would get anyone thrown out of whatever college they went to, no matter how much the bully "had it coming", you'd get sued and be in jail if this were true.

Well the bully did hit him so it could be self defense....maybe.

OT: One time this asshole was making fun of my stutter. He got his friend to hit me in the face. I broke his nose.

I was 16 and it was my first offence, had witness statements from alot of people including the bullies friend who told the truth, plus the kid was a known delinquent so yh that helped my side of the dispute alot.

you sound alot like me tbh, except just because I was different from others and not exactly beefy there was one that had to crop up and push me over the edge.

How dare he, grats on the punch dude, normally I dont condone violence but its all completely justified in my opinion, the whole "They started it" thing, depending on the scale and situation.

I had a problem with bullies for a time. While I'm not sure I'd recommend it, I solved my problem over time with simple unrestrained physical violence. Gave as good as I got and that was all it really took in the end. It would seem that, in my case at least, people weren't willing to bleed for the privileged of pushing me around.

Well when I was in high school I had a lot of fights because I had a really short fuse and was an easy target actually (socially awkward, nerdy, clumsy, sucked at sports and of course I was so small that people thought I was 10 and this was when I was 15-16), I mean I was really easy to make fun of so yeah I fought a lot but it can hardly be considered as bullying from my part I mean I was so small and weak that I don't think I even tickled those people with my punches, though I must say that by far the thing that pissed me off the most was when one of my friends would just carry me for some reason, I mean I know I was almost half they're size and I didn't run very fast but that was annoying.

Middle and elementary school sucked, but I hardly remember them, so it's irreverent.

I'm in high school now, and I'm suck in the middle level. My school is really small(400 students) and there are 100 kids in my grade. I live in the Bronx, go to a Bronx school, and I'm a half white/half Jew.

However, despite this, I haven't been bullied, at all really. I have people who don't like me, but they don't hate me(except this one chick, but whatever). Over all, my high school social life has been pretty average, no real issues.

Oh, and good for you OP.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Ive been on both sides of the bully thing, in elementary school there was this short kid that everyone picked on and I joined in on that, I still feel bad about it and if I had any idea how to contact him I would apologies for it.
In middle school I was bullied, I don't think I was a specific target to it but I was sort of awkward and in a couple classes these guys would mess with me, at least until one math class, we had a sub and these 2 guys were kinda messing with me until I decided I had enough, I had 2 options, one was to yell at them to fuck off or something and just sulk, the other was to do something, if I just yelled I thought it wouldn't end anything so instead I did something. I grabbed a pencil and chased one of them around the class room 3 times intending to stab him in the neck. he was throwing desks and everything he could in my way, I was moving though them like they weren't there but really after the first lap I it was mostly for show, at that point I wasn't pissed enough to kill him anymore and decided that if I was gonna do this I was gonna make a big damn show of it so that people would remember not to fuck with me. I'm glad this happened before columbine since after I probably would have gotten more than just a couple days detention.

I was going to say no, as I've never actually been to school the same way the vast majority of you guys probably have. (I do my schooling online. Yes, it is actually a legit thing, it's even public school technically.) Then I remembered that I was in the Scouts program and that there was one bully there. (it was in the Beavers section of the program, I was still a kid)
Ah yes, Brady. I remember your fat ass. I remember how you stole from me at camp once (he liked to pick on everybody, he only fucked with me once) and then I searched for you, found you (while the adults WEREN'T around mind you) Raised my voice to you to give it back and you did, with a kind of fear in your eyes. (I was the quiet kid, I never really socialised with anyone, so I think me raising my voice to be not only loud, but actually fairly deep kind of scared him and the kids he was playing with)

Thanks for reminding me of that. Good times.

PS, I said in the last post that I am A, a very passive person and B, a pacifist. I amuse myself.

Welcome to the UK where court cases aren't so common.

I think we can start a whole line up of people that fight on a regular basis and avoid jail. Again, welcome to the UK, the home of football hooligans and general thugs.

On topic.

Once, when I was 11 someone tried ... they failed, they bled ... the end.

I was bullied once when I was a kid, the bully eventually learned it's hard to make fun of someone when they are sitting on you.

I've never been bullied myself, and my high school has very little of it going on. but most people here have zero tolerance for it so it stays that way.

This may come as a shock to my fellow Escapists, but once upon a time I was a victim of childish bullying.

Truth be told...I mainly just ignored it. If I ever found myself in a direct scenario where I'd be forced to give some sort of response, I usually just gave a snide comment or attempted to confused my bully.

My personal favorite was always the one where the bully would try to make fun of me, not for being a nerd, but just being smarter. To this day I'm not sure what the logic was behind that. I once actually asked the person "You're trying to make fun of me because you're acknowledging that I'm smarter than you are?"

The guy actually had to think about me, gave me a "Pfft, whatever" and walked off.

I don't claim my way works for everyone, and I'm certainly not one of those guys who's going to say "Yeah, I coulda socked him one" but truth be told, bullying was never that big of a problem for me.

Yes I've been bullied. I did nothing about it.

Funnily enough, the people who bullied me were bigger than I was, so physical resistance was futile. I just shut up and took it. I thought this was how most bullying went.

The sheer number of people I see on this website posting about how they kicked their tormentors ass is ridiculous. If you're big/strong enough to kick their ass, you shouldn't have to; shove them off, let them know it'll get worse if they don't stop, end of story. Maybe a hard slap or two will be necessary, but I doubt there's ever any need to 'snap' and start breaking things.

That said, bullying for me never got very serious, as I looked so frail and shy that anyone attacking me would've just felt embarrassed, like they were beating up a puppy.

I was. Right up until seventh grade was the last time someone actually bullied me instead of just wanting to beat the fuck out of me.

yes there's a difference.

All through my childhood up until I was about 10. Due to being the way I am, I was an easy target. Gullible, socially inept, piss weak, the works. Subject to all sorts of physical and mental bullying. One of the reasons I was pulled from mainstream school at the age of...6 I think.

Funny thing is, when my family moved away from my first school, I actually managed to convince the bullies there that they had to be nice to me because I was moving away. Still to this day don't know how I managed that.

Kids. Strange little bastards at times.
