Trying to decide what games to get with it.

Is Infamous 2nd Son as good as the first games and how is the new LOTR game?

As for games I play it's mostly RPG on consoles or adventure. I'm not big on FPS.

first thing you'll want to do is make sure you have PS+, it's the best way of getting new titles consistantly. if you can get in for this month you can get Pix the Cat, Spelunky and Dust. All awesome games.

Apparently Shadows of Mordor is the tits. I've not played InFamous but it looks to be as good as the previous games. Me and my friend are playing a fair amount of Driveclub atm as well.

Yeah I've had plus for 2 years on my ps3 I got it just for free games and love the freebies. And the discounts really add up on some deals.

Infamous: Second Son is meh. Easily the weakest game in the series. They tried to jam so much stuff into the game and the powers get a little wacky, it just kinda loses its appeal. It's still fun, but not as fun as the other two.

Shadow of Mordor is great. Best game I've played all year.

Sadly, no other next gen exclusive is really worth buying.

I know you said you don't care for FPSs, but Shadow Warrior just came out, it's awesome and only $40 (since it came out last year on PC). You do a lot more melee with your katana than shoot. You get a few powers, some sweet katana moves, and some cool skills. Shadow Warrior is no standard FPS in style or in gameplay, you play as Lo Wang and spout cheesy one-liners out of an 80s movie.

Got mine last week, Mordor is kinda meh. I've been mostly playing the ps4 version of last of us, didn't have it on ps3 so wasn't a total waste.

Second Son is alright, but I'm hesitant to say it's better. It's different to the originals, not bad or good but something else. For the most part though I'm also hesitant to say a PS4 is worth purchasing still, if you've got a PC that can run games then there is no reason to go out and get a console, but that's just me.

Second Son was a good game. Not to the level of Infamous 2, but still a very decent experience. The First Light DLC that just came out was also well worth it, in my opinion.

Shadows of Mordor I haven't played yet, but I've yet to hear any single person (gamer or reviewer) say it's not good.

I enjoyed Infamous Second Son, though I agree I don't think it was quite as good as the originals, but the power variety was kind of cool and let you change things up a bit. If you haven't played it before, I highly recommend The Last of Us Remastered, as the game was excellent on PS3, so I can only assume it will be as good or even better on PS4. I'll also agree with those who suggested getting PS+. While the titles for the PS4 haven't always been the best so far, there have been a number of gems in there, and if you have a PS3 or Vita, you get free games for them as well, in addition to great discounts on some titles every week or so.

I have a PS4 got it because I got a good deal at the time but there is literally nothing of interest on it for me atm then again the only game exclusive to the next gen that has impressed me so far is Bayonetta 2. Guilty Gear Xrd will probably be the next game I get for the PS4 in December hopefully its good.

Unless you have burning passion to play something on the PS4 though or are getting a great deal I would honestly wait there really is no point in getting one if you are just looking for random games to play on it nothing is particularly impressive on PS4 and Xbox One atm imo and there is very little on the WiiU despite its head start (although Bayo 2 is one of those rare games thats worth the admission price on its own if you like action games).

I did get Destiny for the PS4....its total crap dont waste your money but you can have fun with friends on it despite its shortcomings although that goes for every game really.

games are starting to get moved into it and wanted to start building the ps4 library.

I got a new job and got some spare money for new console.

Destiny looks like a game I'd prob never play.

MGS5 Demo and thats it.

There's Bloodbourne for it at some point of it's lifespan, but so far everything good coming for PS4 is also on PC.

I just have to jump in here and say no.

Though I havent played it, Shadow Warrior seems to be a pretty good game.
Even so, it also seems like the kind of game that is far superior on PC.
How so? It's a FPS with the same basic control scheme as all FPSs. It's not like it's a RTS we are talking about. Graphically, the game isn't pushing either hardware to the limit (PS4 or PC).

It's a fairly fast paced classic style FPS along the lines of Duke 3D and Painkiller. I'd imagine both aiming accurately and positioning yourself well are very important to the game.

A controller just can't provide the accuracy needed for a game at that pace. But what do I know, maybe aiming isn't nearly as important as I thought in that game. Maybe you just have to face in the enemy's general direction to kill them all.
Moving is easier with an analog stick. The mouse obviously beats the controller in aiming, but the controller is no slouch either. You can aim really quickly and accurately with a controller. I played MGO on PS3 for 4 years every week and learned to headshot a player shooting at my back in less than a second (because the game required headshots to kill as body shots did minimal damage). Plus, you're using a katana most of the time in Shadow Warrior anyways. The game is more about using your powers and skills than say getting headshots with aiming skill, it's more like Bioshock or Borderlands in a sense by building a character where your powers and skills play off each other.
