So how to get BF3 working

So basically BF3 is so good I can't actually play it. The radiant light of the game is so powerful I can't actually play it, despite having bought it.

So let me explain just how good the game is. I finally installed Origin and Battlefield 3 (through my bluray drive). Took more time then it should have, but whatever, it worked. Then an update came out for Origin which was obviously so awesome that it broke it entirely. It went to update and then it got corrupted and some DLL file was missing. So I uninstalled it completely, and hoped to reinstall it.

So I put the DVD in and now it simply won't install. I click "autorun" and it freezes. I tried a few times and got the same result. I tried opening the DVD to the same result. So I thought that maybe the Bluray drive was somehow not working properly, so I tried a number of other CDs and DVDs and they all happily ran.

But I have a second drive and I thought that maybe the BF3 DVD did not like the bluray drive for some reason. So I put it in my DVD drive and lo and behold it actually opened the menu this time. But I click "install" and nothing happens. That's it.

Since I can only guess as to the radiant glory of the game, can someone help me actually install it again? Are there any processes I should look for after clicking "install"? Because when I first installed it, there was no delay.

So yeah I've never had this before where a DVD or CD would not work in the drive like this. But I don't understand why it won't work again, after working the first time.

So help me feel the radiant light (well I assume it's that good) of the game. How can I overcome these hurdles to play the game I paid 80 bux for?

I agree with... trollpwner.
This is stupid and annoying. I'm gonna go play some BF3 now because mine is working fine and it's brilliant.

This thread needs more tactical light!

Edit - More serious now.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the DVD only contain the single player part of the game? So you'll still need to download the rest via origin. So download via Origin?

*sigh*
Give us a clue eh? What OS? God help you if you're on a MAC, I will use the "Punch you in the face over the internet" machine.

If it's Windows, delete anything and everything related to EA and Origin, and restart your PC.
Put the disk back in, let it autoplay and install it like you would ANY OTHER PIECE of software.

If it still doesn't work, take the disk back to the shop, get your money back, sell your PC, buy an abacus and go outside and stare at the sun.
