I have a few questions regarding this.
I am talking about the text between your username and your avatar.

First: What does Gone Gonzo mean? (I'm too lazy to google it and English isn't my mothertongue)

Second: How do I change it / When or How does it change??

Third: Which one is the coolest one you've seen if you've put any notice to it???

To answer myself on the third question I must say I saw a "Wordsmith Extraoirdinare" which would be pretty cool to get there if you can't change it yourself (question number 2)

Thanks in advance Escapist!

Your title changes from the number of posts you get, unless you're a member of PubClub, then you can change it yourself.

I'm not exactly sure what Gone Gonzo is, but I know it's when you hit 1000 posts. xD Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Gonzo, referring to journalism, was a phrase and style made popular by the fantastic Hunter S. Thompson. The best way to explain it is to probably read/watch "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas"...also, the documentary "Gonzo" is superb too. In a nut shell, it's kind of like 'crazy', 'bizarre' journalism that favours style over fact and isn't necessarily polished. It's often quite over exaggerated and thus can be questioned as to whether to events really happened or not - much is the case with "Fear and Loathing"...it's fact-fiction.

I know that it is based on how many posts you make around the forums on this site. The fastest way to change it is to buy premium membership to this site, the other way to change it is to comment on a lot more topics around the forums.

Do you know if it is only on the number of posts or if it actions also?

Like watching every video on the escapist would give you a new one or maybe being warned like 100 times would give you another one?

I'm just curious that's all ^^
Thanks for your first post!
and you others too :)

I know there are a few titles you can get through other means, but I have no idea how to get them :/ Most of the titles are just by your post count. I think Wordsmith Extraordinaire is 10,000 or something...

Unless your a pubclub member your title changes depending on what your post count is. I believe it changes when you get 100, 500, 1000, 5000, or 10000 posts. I don't remember all of the title names but I think those are the number of posts it takes to get a new title. I do know there is another after the 10,000 post count I just can't remember what the post count you need to get it is, if I had to take a guess I'd guess 20,000 posts.

As for what gonzo means I was trying to figure that out too for the longest time but it never intrigued me enough to go looking for it.

As most of the default titles are print and journalism themed I'm pretty sure "Gone Gonzo" relates to Gonzo Journalism. I'm not sure what mine would be at this post count because I'm PubClub.

EDIT: Also, congrats.

EDIT 2: Seeing as someone above with a similar post count is "Wordsmith Extraordinaire" I'm guessing that's what I'd be, too.

EDITS EVERYWHERE: I appear to have been ninja'd already.

My favourite is 'Heroic Champion of Legendary Destiny'.

Cookie if you know how to get it!
I know how to get it, although I won't say how. But know I lurk like a lurky thing over there. >:) XD

OT: To answer question 2, it changes whenever you hit a certain post count. Your next change OP will be at 5000 posts, then 10000, before getting stuck at 25000. Or, if you purchase a Pub Club membership (Which is kinda pointless in my eyes but I'm making use of this gifted one at the moment.) you can change it to whatever you fancy, within site rules of course.

As for question 3, probably Nobel Laureate is my favourite/coolest title.

Not really. Generally Gonzo journalism is just inserting yourself into the story. Rather than just telling the facts, telling it from your point of view. Making the central character you, rather than have the piece center on the story.

No idea what it means, but I always associated it with gonzo from the muppets.

it changes with post number (or if you get a pub club membership, then you can put whatever the hell you want there)

I wanna get that one that you see the after wordsmith extraordinare to be honest, though i cant think of what its called.
