So I got a tumblr account...

Well... This has got to be the hardest question I have ever wanted to answer...
Frankly, all of the tumblrs I do "follow" tend to be more pony/brony-centered... (or REALLY NSFW...) and any other tumblrs I follow I tend not to recommend due to "differences in taste"...
I think the better question here is "What would be something that would please you" and then work from there... That's basically how I ended up following all these random tumblrs where a good chunk of them are just extensions of their YouTube channel and/or Twitter account...
Now that I think about it, a third of the tumblrs I'm following are all different artist ranging from music to art... and they all have either a YouTube account, a Twitter account, a Deviant Art account, a Fur Affinity account, a NSFW account, or a combination of any of those accounts...
I guess the best recommendation I can give you,overall, is search for what you like and there's bond to be a tumblr (or two... or more...) that centers around that particular thing, for the most part...

Whatever things you like? I stopped using tumblr because seems to be a strange prevalence "OMG FEELZ!" overly hyperactive type fans of a lot of things and it annoys me.

You're probably better off by following some people you know first, and finding new blogs to follow through that. It really does depend on your preferences with Tumblr.

I just use mine to re-post any drawings I do, it's really not all that interesting. Hope you find some interesting stuff.

Oh lord the fandoms yes. It's why I use Tumblr Blocker, I blocked pretty much everything related to:DementedSheep said:

I follow humor blogs and a few art blogs on mine. I rarely post OC. You are going to run into a lot of pre-teen social justice keyboard warriors so unless you're into that sort of stuff, prepare yourself.

As previous posters have said, it's filled with overenthusiastic fandoms ( I just think it's cute. Those people are apparently very passionate about what they like, and I say good for them) and some social justice warriors. Your Tumblr experience depends on yourself entirely though, if you don't like that stuff; don't follow those blogs. You can filter it out. I recommend just going through tags, searching things you like. Often those blogs will lead you to similar ones that you'll find interesting.

Jokes aside, I just use my Tumblr to post my art and follow artists as well. I kinda like it when artists have some persona behind their drawings and talk about stuff, because they usually have good advice and insightful things to say, but I tend to stay away from the more melodramatic artist who seem to constantly post their trials and tribulations with no real benefit to their followers.
So yeah, if your an art guy/gal follow some artist blogs, that's the only thing I pretty much use my tumblr for.
Oh and word of advice: Stay Away from the FANDOMS! These aren't your "Lets sit down and discuss our preferred show, in terms of story telling, character building and what it brings to media table in general" type fandoms. oh no! These are your "OMG I SHIP THESE TWO TOGETHER! BAAWW FEELZ! IF YOU DON'T THINK CASTIEL IS HAWT WE WILL FIGHT!!" type fandoms that do nothing but spew bile and homoerotic fanfiction everywhere... not even the good kind of homoerotic writings!
Also another warning: If it has Tumblr hype, odds are.. its not worth it.

Just follow on whoever you like, chances are they may or may not have a tumblr account. I tend to follow some fanartist out there are they post other stuff just than just their arts on their tumblr account.
