I've never had surgery before (I'm lucky), but my brother has bits of ceramic bones in his left arm, as his 'standard' bones have crushed in a car accident he had - and some parts couldn't be repaired/healed without exchanging them with ceramic counterparts.

I had two separate torsions. I didn't catch the second one. It had...explosive properties.
...explosive? Sounds messy. Not to mention excruciatingly painful. I suppose this means you don't still have it as a souvenir?

Nothing interesting for me (sadly?) - I had some of my 'baby' teeth out when the little bastards refused to make way for the fine set of teeth growing behind them, and the local anaesthetic meant I couldn't talk properly for the rest of the day. Then I went back a week later to have the same thing done on the other side of my face. I think I may have the teeth in a bag somewhere.

Reading this thread has got me all worried about my wisdom teeth, which are currently slowly emerging but (so far) giving me no disconfort.

I've had stitches on my hand when i cut it open on a gate spike. When i injured my hand i didn't feel pain i was so shocked- ironically, what really was painful was all the injections i had to have into my hand in order to numb it so the doctor could stitch the hand up. Painkilling needles are painful!

I had my wisdom teeth taken out ONE AT A TIME.

So I thought I was pretty used to that but the last operation was worse than all of the first 3 put together.

The tooth (upper right one) was veeery large and had a nasty hook at the end which made the removal pretty difficult. I have never, ever screamed while at a doctor's but this time I did, several times and with feeling, because it felt like the surgeon was trying to wrench of my jaw while wrenching out the tooth.
Advanced medicine my arse. It's just anaesthetic, one cut and then using a fucking steel hook. I never felt the cuts, of course, but the pressure on my jaw bones was so fucking painful, even through all the drugging that I couldn't help but scream.

More surgery stories?
Had my appendix taken out years ago, only hours before it was about to burst through my stomach wall. How do organs wander, exactly? I have no idea, but thats whats happened.

I had never felt a pain like it before the surgery, and obviously none like it afterwards. Also, the dose of anaesthetic was so large that it took me months to fully recovery from that..

Still, much better than death, which is what the doctor smilingly promised was the alternative, so I will not complain.

But you lose life.
Don't be a dick, man...
Pun intended?

Though to hypothetically win over Mr. Lord, I had both removed.
[sub]And got perfectly sized robotic ones put into place instead. I am the Alpha Male now, *****![/sub]
are you joking or are you serious, and if so. Why? I don't mean to offend, I'm curious. If its too personal I understand.
I'm joking mate, I'm joking. Hence the term "hypothetical".

Just wisdom teeth.

It sucked. The nausea from the pain meds was worse than the pain. Then it got infected.

Still lucky compared to some of the poor guys & girls in this thread.

Let's see I'm only gonna list the past three years.

2 Major concussions
what amounted to lash marks on my back
broken arm
two broken fingers
broken noise
cracked tooth that had to be drilled and replaced
and assorted minor injuries that required stitches, one of which was just under my right eyeball
What the heck do you do for a living ? Throw yourself out of trains ?

I had surgery and I have learned one important thing : When people cut you open it will always hurt even through a ton of painkillers.

It must have taken balls to post about that on a public forum.

I'm sorry that was awful, I apologise.

I had knee surgery after I broke my leg.
Although, my sister had surgery two days ago, she had her 3rd kidney removed. Sad to say, but she beat me.

Oh, are we talking about injuries, too? I've had six concussions, the past four with retrograde amnesia. Most of my memory is back, but there are weeks here and there that are probably gone forever. I've broken fingers and toes a number of times, broken my wrist twice (the first time I didn't know it was broken until three weeks later), and had a bunch of stress fractures in my lower body (I ran cross-country and track competitively for 13 years, and you get a grand total of four weeks off a year). Also, I'm as clumsy and accident-prone as they come, so I'm always covered with cuts and bruises. I've been hit by cars, bikes and skateboarders, I've fallen down the stairs, I bang my knees and elbows on things all the time, I shut my fingers in drawers. Also, once while working in a deli, I was cleaning a slicer and managed to cut the back of my finger open in a jagged line across the second knuckle. I needed seven stitches and a brace (I nicked a tendon). My friend once called me "the most eventful person [he] kn[e]w." It's a good description; I'm quite a spectacle.

When it comes to surgeries, I've only had two. I had my wisdom teeth out, and that was a breeze. They put me under, and I only had three for some reason. Also, when I was 17, I had breast reduction surgery because I was ridiculously disproportionate and was having back problems (re: running track). That was awesome. They gave me morphine in the hospital until the anesthesia was out of my system and I could eat something. They sent me home with Percocet, and I wasn't allowed to do any strenuous exercise for a month. Totally worth it, though.

I and my friends always seem to get into bar fights, the lash marks on my back were from when someone broke a pool stick and whipped me with the thinner end

What, the doctor ended up with some parts left over? Sounds like some of my car repair efforts.
No, there was something in there that wasn't supposted to be there. That was what the surgeon removed. Picture attatched!

The one on the right is the oddity, the left one is the same area, only now it's been burned away. The penis looking thing. :p

They did it because so much pure awesome can not be concentrated in a person, or else the person may explode in awesomeness.

It was for the good of the world, as the cataclysmic implosion brought forth by your awesomeness overwhelming earths gravity, then forming a black hole would suck in the entire galaxy, then explode with such force that the universe is obliterated down to the atom.

That or you know, they mixed up the papers and your tonsils getting removed turns into testicle removal.
