So the last two or so weeks have been hell...

I was caught in that horrible ice storm up here in New England, and was powerless for ten some odd days. We've been stranded at a shitty hotel for the time, and called our house every now and then to see if the power was back (if the machine picked up it was back). It came back on day nine for an hour and we headed back but 100 yards from the house the entire neighborhood went out again...

The power came back yesterday, but with no heat or water...the pipes were frozen...And today they burst, the house is a mess...

Aside from stealing the net from a neighbor, and being stranded again, I'm here to say I'll be missing for a little while. At the same time, as I'd like to have more of a purpose to this thread, how's your week been? Recall a time as miserable as this?

In south dakota, we know how to deal with cold, we have have normal temperatures below 0 farhenheit, without windchill, and almost a foot of snow, but we deal with it. No days with the schools closed, no closed businesses, no blackouts, life just goes on

I'm trapped in my house without a decent game system (read: only have access to Wii and GC), so I'm really bored.

It's too hot in Australia, yag dangit. I am devoting my time to swimming at the river and gaming wise, I just got Kings Bounty The Legend which is quite fun.

Well, last Friday I had a big snowstorm, but I got a day off from school, then I went sledding and hurt my back, and it still hurts so, not a perfect week but overall OK.

Yeah... I had one ice storm that knocked out my power for a day, but that's the worst ice has ever done for us. Then again, we get regular storms that knock out power for a week and cable for two during any other season, so...

Yeah, massive amounts of snow sucks, but it's ok. I'm looking forward to Christmas ^__^

Here in Worcester, MA, things have been really bad. I want to go back to CA! There's still about 2000 people without power for a week and a half now, and I actually saw a reporter on MSNBC in Elm Park here showing the rest of the country how bad it is. Banks have been closing early, which is a huge hassle, not to mention restaurants and other various businesses, and the extra foot of snow we just got over the past 3 days.

No, I get to sit at home and do nothing, it is rather awesome.
I agree (especially since I no longer have to go to school, and don't have to deal with the damn snow).

Last week, it snowed. A lot. So much, that it took me over an hour to get to school. I was ten minutes late. It was the only district in the entire northeast of Kansas that had school that day. Later, my cable got disconnected because the people who worked there are either idiots or jackasses. After that, the car got a flat tire. Day one complete. Day two. Nothing to report. Day three, A four year old told me the worst insult I've ever heard. Day four, the water froze for 30 minutes.

What was the insult?

You don't have a dad. How stupid is that? I can't blame her. She's four. Not a lot of experience of insulting people. Now, if your parents are divorced, that would be tough to hear.

I've had a rough month/year as well, severe lack of cash for holidays, a aunt died on my fathers birthday ( Dec 17 ), my mother steadily losing her ability to speak from aphasia, in turn making my other aunt drink herself stupid and get stoned every other day, the house is falling apart in small spurts. I want this year to be over, I hope next year will be better for us all with problems.

I live in Texas, last year this time around, I was wearing shorts. No snow here.
But, it was 17 degrees the other day.
