It looks pretty new from the outside, I mean I thought it might be a shared attic, and if it is I really got the short end of the deal, but I don't think it's old enough to have a share attic. But that would explain the door I guess, but I don't like the fact that it only opens from the other side. I must know!

I'd ask whoever lives next door to see if they know and then you can also check if they also happen to be a axe murderer/vampire/demon/ghost/werewolf/evil wizard/witch/warlock/necromancer/very nice person/alien/android/Iphone

My girlfriend dropped some stuff off at the house about half an hour ago, and she met the woman next door.

She's a little old lady with a cattery out back. A crazy old cat lady, who seemed more than happy for us to bang on her door if we need anything.

She also asked if we 'play our radios loud because she doesn't like young people and their banging music', or something.

I wonder if she killed the people living there before and hid them in the attic for her cats to eat.

The door only opens from her side as it is a portal between the Nether realm and her house. I'm hoping that she is confined to the house as no one has summoned her yet.

And I decided to investigate the attic. Upon opening the small door to get up there I was greeted with what looked to be a door and a wall. From the way it's positioned in the attic it seems to cover at least half of my house. The door is made of wood and looks pretty new, but the odd thing is there's no handle. It only opens out, and can't be pushed open, but there's nothing to pull it open with either!

I'm going to investigate it at some point in the next few days when I've finished moving, but the question is this Escapist? What do you think is behind the door? Is it just a brick wall? Is there someone living there? Does a murderer live above me? Should I risk the door, or just bolt the attic shut from the outside?

Will I even be able to sleep at night knowing there's a strange door up there?

That was my first thought. But then, the house I last moved into was owned by the leader of a cult, his 6 wives, and countless children, so if I found, say, an area bricked up in the courtyard with people and alot of scratch marks behind it, I wouldn't be THAT surprised.
