Pretty much I stopped at Gamestop while I was out and preordered a console today.

Here's what gets to me. When I asked they directed me to an employee that would handle it. Now, I was intentionally being ambiguous out of curiosity to see what would happen. When I stated my intention, he effectively said, "You're getting the PS4, right?"

He didn't know me, I might add. When I asked about it, he effectively said that while he wasn't trying to be biased, there is no reason to buy the Xbox One. And he apparently was advising people as such as well. I did ask how the preorders were coming and it seemed pretty one sided for the PS4 from what he said, too, though, he did note that some people were still getting Xbox One out of loyalty.

Anyway, I preordered my PS4, Infamous: Second Son, and Destiny.

I'll probably stop in periodically to pay off the balance over time. By the time it launches, I should have little to nothing left to pay off.

What about the rest of you? Have you preordered, yet? Did you have a similar experience? And most importantly, what did you get?

Even if I was interested in one of them, I don't see the point in pre-ordering from a retail store as ordering online would mean that I don't have to pay anything yet, and if it becomes cheaper (which is unlikely to be fair) then I'd get it for the lower price. If I did change my mind at a later date then I'd have lost no money.

If I was that adamant about pre-ordering this early I'd do it online and if I needed to I'd put aside the money for it, rather than paying in instalments.

Personally I think it's becoming a little overblown. I dislike the XBone, but people are almost gleeful that it's failing, and I think that level of excitement should be reserved for puppy killers being found eaten by killer puppies or similar things.

As for me? I will either buy neither, or trade in my PS3 for a PS4. Although the launch line-up doesn't seem particularly exciting to be honest.

Not going to pre-order simply because none of the launch titles interest me that much. Also, I'm waiting for a price drop and want to make sure there's not going to be any issues with the hardware.

I wont be preordering a console. Sure i will probably buy one within a couple months of them coming out but I just dont care enough to buy one right away. There are plenty of games still coming out that i will probably still be busy playing.

If I was in your situation I would have told him xbox one just to see what he says. I honestly kind of want to go in and preorder one just to see what happens.

No but I intend to get a ps4 down the line. I have learned that launch consoles tend not to be worth it in the long run. Maximum price for minimum quality.

I'll probably wait until a few months after it comes out. I like early adopting but for something this costly, its probably better to wait. I'll probably need to in order to save up the money cause my bills just keep pounding me

I'm kind of happy that its failing. I don't want the future of gaming to revolve around publishers and always online drm. If it succeeded then suddenly this kind of thing would viable in the future and I be forced to do all my gaming a pc which I find cumbersome. I also don't like Microsoft and I want to see them get replaced by company that makes better products. I guess that makes me a puppy-killer-eater-liker
