A friend once described to me a book, where a race of alines, who due to millenia of peace have been come physically unable to enact violence. They come to earth saying they had accidentally unleashed a violent race who conquered their way through the galaxy leaving only wastelands in their wake, and that they were now heading for us.
Because they feel responsible, but cant directly help themselves, they give us loads of advanced tech for the coming war. Unsure what to do with all this tech, the world governments call in a panel of sci-fi writers, on the basis they have made a career dreaming up what to do if we had tech like that.
I have no idea what this book is called, but I want to read it.
