I have many (self-proclaimed) formidable ideas for novels I could write.
only thing is that I believe they would work better as comics. some at least.
but there is a problem of course, I draw like a donky on pot.
So should I go trough with writing it? or learn to draw?
and do you yourself ever think about writing anything?

People often write stories and get themselves an illustrator.
Thought about that too, but I am kinda broke. need all my money for my aprtment and such.
besides, the only one I know with the skill that would do it for free is my ex... so yeah, not my prime objective.

Look at, ummm, that really famous child author Robert Munsch, I don't think hes ever illustrated one of his own books. It's perfectly acceptable.

Donkeys, like people, draw better when they are on pot.

Your question is kind of stupid. You're basically asking us if you should learn to draw. That depends on what you're into.

Thats like me asking you think I like sandwiches or pizza better.

Your second question is even worse than your first one. Though it was funny. We all hate writing. Thats why we write posts here. Hee hee.

I am currently working on a series of books (slow progress though) and have always thought they'd be better suited for a manga or maybe comic. but like you i cant draw to save my life.
give it a try at writing it and if you struggle for ideas or dont find it worth it, then stop and maybe think of a different plot. also dont make the mistake i did which was to right whats happening and not the scenery in a chapter. you end up with small chapters :D

Like kalakashi said, you could take the "Bakuman" route and write it all, and then either try to get an artist to work with you to bring it to life... Or just keep it as a book. If all else fails, you can write the book and then if it takes off use some cash to make a comic.

Currently off-and-on writing myself. Been working on it for like a year and a half now. So many ideas scrapped. haha

Comics are normally written as scripts before they are drawn. There are examples of professional comic book scripts out there if you want to give it a go. Not totally sure what you would do with one if you write it other than send it to a company that makes comic books who might read it and send you a reply. It's not like fame and fortune comes to everyone who creates a novel though.

First of all, Pizza all the way! my dayjob is making them.

second, how is my question stupid? I was adding to my topic by pretending to care! that was nice of me! and how is interacting with people on a forum even related to write a fiction novel? exept the fact that you use typographed words in both.

Pizza it is then. I figured you meant writing more than just posts, but I was feeling feisty. I like the pretending to care part. Now I know why you didn't get offended at my post. It made me laugh.

But, to actually contribute something to your thread. I think you should learn to draw if you have an interest, but thats only because I enjoy drawing. But it could take forever to get good enough to draw comics, so it depends on how much of a hurry you are in to start creating.

Time I have enough of. Ill find myself a pencil and draw until I get bored and decide to just write it as a script anyway! :D

I've been planning on writing a book for over 3 years but never been able to start. I'd say write it first then find someone else to draw it for you.
