...and I was wondering if anyone knew how to recreate his approach (still images set to a rambling soundtrack created in Audacity, I assume). I wanted to do this for a project to show how comics can be presented like animation can, given how Yahtzee uses stills ("panels") in a sequence ("comics") set to a narration with minimal animation. It's a stretch of a theory, I know, but interest has been expressed by those familiar with Zero Punctuation and comic theory (that is, those familiar with Scott McCloud's work).
Would I need to create a new still for every "scene change" or "action" and just stretch out their displayed duration to the portion of the soundtrack that I want it to? I've done some fiddling with Windows Movie Maker (the program that I was recommended to use) and I don't think I spent enough time with it to really get a grasp over it, so if someone has a simpler explanation that they can scratch down and post, it'd really help me out.
I was also wondering if someone knew some of the seemingly more advanced techniques (like the knee jerk he did in the Halo Wars video, complete color inversion, and whatnot) or if it would require some image manipulation programs such as a .gif creator, Photoshop, and the like. This is the part I'm most worried about since I have absolutely no experience with these sorts of programs.
And if you don't have any useful advice to offer, what Yahtzee imitators have you seen that seem to do a good job with this style? It might be helpful to see some "outside sources" in action. So far I've only seen WhistleBlowerZero's GameStop attack series and the guy who reviewed Trilby.
