Yeah thats basically what I just said.Buzz Killington said:"Treason doth never prosper: what's the reason?Seekster said:What's this treason thing? Its not treason if you win.
Why, if it prosper, none dare call it treason."

I thinks safe to say that Britian would have prefered simply putting down the rebellion and going back to making a profit off American trade. Seriously it was very lucrative.EMFCRACKSHOT said:Well, the British could celebrate for us being rid of a pesky colony that didn't know its place =PSeekster said:Yes like I said, it would be odd if people in other nations are celebrating Independence Day, its not your holiday. Americans don't celebrate Canada Day...though it does apparently occur a bit before Independence Day.
=O I am shocked and appalled. Its a very tasty but very hot curry. Not for the faint of heart. Of course, its nothing compared to some of the currys in the gurkha cookbookSounds fun, just one question, what is lamb vindaloo?
And fish and chips GOD I LOVE FISH AND CHIPS!!! Come on INVADE ALREADY!EMFCRACKSHOT said:Well, you darned colonials enjoy your independence whilst you can. One day the British Empire will return bigger and better than ever before, with blackjack, and hookers =P
Really few decades im assuming to be lets say the last 30 yrs which would put us to 1981 correct? Well We outspent communism (the USSR) and made it fall and now a great many folks in eastern europe can vote freely and practice religion again. Western Europe no longer has to worry about the eastern block invading and killing millions. The iraqis and afghanis are free people (for how long no-one knows). I think thats a pretty good start. The Cadet said:Not much to be proud of, really.
Oh joy, we became independent this day several hundred years ago. So did... most of the western world, at some point or another. Get over it, America. It's not like you've really done much good in the last few decades.
Yeah George III was a lot less reasonable about it than Good Ole Queen Vickie.ravensheart18 said:Happy Rebellion day my American Brothers and Sisters!Seekster said:Yay woot, USA! USA! USA!
Happy July 4th everyone! Yes I know the one day a year where Americans have a decent excuse to be blatantly patriotic so I am going to milk it for what its worth.
Anyway I read the news recently and couldnt help but notice that Canada Day is celebrated just a few days before Independence Day is...that is kind of interesting, didnt notice that before. Well done Canada.
I hear some of the border towns made a nice 4 day party of it, starting with Canada day and then leading to US Independence Day.
BTW, we turned 144 this year. We asked Queen Victoria if Her Majesty minded if we became independant and she said it was "kool with her" (I believe that's a direct quote). Far less noisy than the old "shot heard round the world" down south.
It's nice we can get together over this weekend and BBQ up some meat and make lots of pretty explosions![]()
